PUBLISHED SEP 6, 2019

Starring Chris O'Dowd and Ray Romano, the third season the dark comedy 'Get Shorty' is all set to roll out on the Epix channel. Based on the 1990s bestselling novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard and created for television by Davey Holmes, the series will make its comeback this fall with seven all-new episodes. The series follows Miles Daly (O'Dowd) — the muscle for a Nevada crime ring — who attempts to change professions and become a movie producer with the help of washed-up filmmaker Rick Moreweather(Romano). He gets involved in a cat-and-mouse game with studio head Laurence Budd(Steven Weber), while Amara (Lidia Porto) and Rick flee to the Guatemalan jungle to escape the FBI.

Release date

Officially renewed for Sunday, October 6 at 10 pm, the series airs on Epix in America and Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Plot

The official plot summary of the show reads: "Inspired by Elmore Leonard’s 1990 New York Times bestselling novel, 'Get Shorty' is the story of Miles Daly, who works as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada and attempts to change professions and become a movie producer, laundering money through a Hollywood film."

Season three will continue to follow Daly and Rick as they still look for ways to make their movie. At the end of season two, Daly is still at odds with his criminal past and his ambitions as a filmmaker in Hollywood. Season three should pick up from where season two left off when Rick agrees to wear a wire for the Feds.
