While Paramount Networks canceled 'Cops' in the wake of the ongoing George Floyd protests, A&E is still evaluating 'Live PD'. The network had pulled last weekend's episodes due to the nationwide protests and is reportedly waiting for the right time to bring the series back and Deadline has stated that it isn't likely that it would return this weekend. An A&E spokesperson told Deadline, "We haven’t made any statement about when the show will return as we are evaluating."

As per reports, both the police TV shows are said to "distort" the public's view of enforcement, by glorifying the police while distorting issues such as crime, justice, and gender. However, some fans are not entirely pleased that there is a chance that 'Live PD' might be canceled. "If LivePD gets canceled I'll be sad, I love that show. I don't wanna lose my couch-cuddle show," a fan wrote. "I saw that, I do hope they don’t cancel Live PD. I do wish they would get rid of the a-hole police from Baton Rouge," another wrote.

"@michaeljfitzpat they can cancel live PD over my dead BODY!" a fan wrote. Meanwhile, another fan said that the cops on 'Live PD' treat people with "respect and decency." "Don’t you dare cancel lLive PD. After duck dynasty ended I had nowhere to go to see decent people on TV until Live PD came along. Live PD is a good example of how cops actually treat people in most cases… With respect and decency," they wrote.

"The whole point of LIVE PD is to show how a Cops job is done the right way. Not once the show has produced police brutality. Most people who agree with the shows canceling have never watched an episode or know the difference," they added. "#LivePD did a good job of showing largely good policing. It showcased how to do it right, at least the episodes I saw. The officers showed compassion, humanity and professionalism. All opposites of what we saw w Floyd. We need law enforcement like it or not," a fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, others are calling for the show to be canceled. "@AETV do the responsible thing and cancel the garbage show #LivePD. I’m tired of seeing police brutality, violence, and excessive force used as entertainment for this country," a user tweeted while another wrote "Cancel Live PD next please." "Live PD is bad for communities, and cities are starting to take notice. Their days are numbered," a fan tweeted.
