‘General Hospital’ will not air on November 26 and 27: Will Lulu wake up from coma when ABC soap returns?

Dante and Laura clash when it comes to figuring out how to help Lulu the best. Will they come to an agreement, if not, who's going to have the last say?

ABC's 'General Hospital' airs its last episode of the week on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, from then on, there is a two-week break. The soap drama will return on Monday, November 30, 2020, with a new episode. On Thursday, November 26, 2020, the soap will re-air its December 23, 2019 episode which sees Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) as Ebenezer Scrooge with 'A Christmas Carol' theme.

On Friday, November 27, a football game or local programming will take over the soap's time slot on the network. Four days (including the usual weekend break) isn't too bad as most shows are taking holiday/winter breaks this week. When the show does return on Monday though, the drama will continue to unfold - especially when we find out what Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) decide when it comes to Lulu Spencers' (Emme Rylan) fate.

In the November 25 episode, we saw Dante run down the hall carrying Lulu after she had collapsed in the chapel. Portia notices that one of Lulu's pupils has been blown and later finds out that she has a serious brain injury. She was put into surgery because the skull has to be moved off her brain. Portia reveals that Lulu is in a coma and Dante breaks down when he visits his love asking her to come back and finish the sentence she was saying; her last words to him was her mouthing "I Love You." Lucas tells Lulu's family that had a preliminary CT scan been done, they could have avoided this situation but now the damage to her brain is severe, and if recovery is possible, it will take a very long time.

In the November 30 episode, when Dante finds out more updates on Lulu's condition, he finds that she might not wake up at all. He asks Laura what their options are when it comes to Lulu's care, but it seems as though putting Lulu in a long-term care center is the best way to go while she's able to be moved. Dante and Laura will argue over their decision - he might hope there are more doctors can do, that maybe Lulu will be able to recover fine, while Laura might push the reality that Lulu is in a grave condition. Will Dante and Laura come to an agreement, if not, who's going to have the last say?

Some fans are grateful that Lulu wasn't killed off the show and was put in a coma, others think that they won't kill her and will bring her back eventually. "I don’t think they’re going to kill Lulu anymore. I think they’ll just have her stay in a coma and go to a facility outside of Port Charles so that they can have her back whenever they get the budget for it. #GH," wrote one fan. Another wrote, "Thank you #GH for hearing us & going the coma route with Lulu & not death I may not be happy she’s leaving but at least this way I can see your going the endgame route so I know it’s just a matter of time." Others, of course, were just plain angry, with one fan adding "@valentinifrank I can't express how ANGRY I am that you ruined Julian and let Lulu go into a coma when we just got Dante back! Dante didn't even see Lulu mouth ILY. You NEED to fix this! #SaveLulu #BringBackEmme You will lose viewers how it is now!! #GH"
