Finally, the highly anticipated trailer for much talked about prequel series, ‘Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon’ has been released by the makers. The visuals of the trailer look breath-taking and so is the cinematography and direction very brilliant as well. The trailer starts with King Viserys Targaryen’s (Paddy Considine) character saying, “The dream it was clearer than a memory. I heard the sound of thundering hooves, splintering shields, and ringing swords. I placed my heir upon the Iron Throne and all the dragons roared as one.” Which gave a hint that the biggest blood-filled war for the iron throne in the house of Targaryen is about to ensue and is inevitable.

Then we see Rhaenys Velaryon’s (Eve Best) character saying in dialogue, “Rhaenyra’s succession will be challenged. Knives will come out. Then we see Rhaenyra Targaryen’s (Emma D’Arcy) character saying dialogue to another character, “You are the king. Your duty is to take a new wife.” This gives a small clue that the war is unavoidable and will permanently shift the power dynamics and also change everything as well. Then we see Laenor Valaryon’s (John Macmillan) character saying, “War is afoot.” We see a young version of Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) saying to someone, “Do you think the realm will accept me as their queen?.” Then we see Rhaenys replying to Rhaenyra, “A woman will not inherit the iron throne. Because that is the order of things.” That moment changes everything in their Targaryen family dynamics completely as from that point onwards we see a strong and fierce side of Rhaenyra who vows, “When I am the queen, I will create a new order.”

Overall we see the family of Targaryens almost 170 years before the events of Game of Thrones. There’s a glimpse of deceit, war, and blood where the house of the dragons are battling it out with each other through fair and unfair means just to get the power and throne into their hands. We saw Rhaenyra’s journey from being a meek and obedient child to becoming a strong-minded fierce warrior that is set to challenge the patriarchal law of order to inherit her father’s throne wherein she vows to create a whole new order when she becomes a queen. We see a sneak peek of dragons in their full form warring it out with the others. The trailer has a mix of history, action, war, fantasy, conflicted family dynamics, drama, and dragons as well. The trailer has been shot aesthetically and certainly got fans hooked to it.
