Sheriff Country Season 2 Cast: Meet the Returning Stars as CBS Promotes Two Characters to Series Regulars

Morena Baccarin stars as Sheriff Mickey Fox, the lead character in the police procedural drama, and has returned for Season 2. Fox is a “formidable and straight-shooting” sheriff who patrols the small town of Edgewater. She is also the stepsister of Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr) from Fire Country. Mickey was first introduced in the parent series before getting her own spinoff.

Matt Lauria is back for Season 2 as Nathan Boone, a smart and capable deputy. Boone is Mickey Fox’s partner, who “cares deeply for her and the town of Edgewater.” In an interview with UPI, Lauria explained Boone and Fox’s relationship, saying, “Boone regards Mickey as imperfect, of course. He knows her blind spots. He calls her out on it. She calls him out on his, but, despite all that, Boone holds Mickey in inestimable esteem and, so, then it would be extremely hard for anybody to meet the standard of which Boone believes Mickey is worthy.”

W. Earl Brown once again plays Wes Fox, the estranged father of Sheriff Mickey Fox and stepfather of Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone. He’s an ex-con who operates an off-the-grid marij*ana-growing business.

Among the returning cast members is Christopher Gorham, who is reprising his role as Travis Fraley in Season 2. He is Mickey Fox’s ex-husband, and they share a daughter, Skye. Fraley is a wealthy lawyer who resides in Edgewater. While speaking with Digital Journal, Gorham teased that Season 2 is “going to be even better.” He also talked about his role, noting, “I love how they are trying to tell this complicated story of his relationship with Mickey… there is a lot of history between these two characters. I feel the audience can feel that history between Travis and Mickey and that is a compliment to the writing of the show.”

Michele Weaver is also part of the returning cast for Season 2. She plays Cassidy Campbell, a deputy in the Edgewater County Sheriff's Office. CBS describes Campbell as “a trusted officer with a troubled past and a strong connection to Mickey.” In May, rumors circulated that Weaver had been “written off” the show because of her on-screen absence from some episodes of the season. At the time, she took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes video and clarified in the caption, “People keep asking if I was written off. Nope .. just had to leave to have a baby.”

Amanda Arcuri will continue playing Skye Fraley in the new season, but with more screen time. Arcuri has been promoted to series regular in Season 2 after appearing in a recurring role in the first installment. Skye is the daughter of Mickey Fox and Travis Fraley. She is a “former dr*g addict trying to stay on the path of recovery while dealing with a murder investigation, the loss of her cousin, shocking family betrayals, and more.”

In Season 2, Ian Quinlan has also been promoted to series regular from a recurring role. He stars as Deputy Hank Iglesias, who “works in Mickey Fox’s department and has a special bond with fellow coworker Cassidy.”
