Black Doves Season 2: From Keira Knightley to Ben Whishaw, All the Stars Returning for Netflix’s Spy Thriller

Keira Knightley leads Black Doves, so she is naturally reprising her role as Helen Webb, an undercover spy and politician’s wife. In Season 2, “Helen is still betraying her nation’s secrets to the covert organization she serves, the Black Doves. But after the misadventures of last Christmas, and with her husband, Wallace (Andrew Buchan), preparing to become prime minister, she’s walking a more treacherous line than ever.”

In the new installment, fans will also see Ben Whishaw as Sam Young, a lethal assassin and Helen's friend. He, “once a high-end triggerman, is now reduced to lonely drinks in Soho bars and low-rate hits.” However, Netflix confirms that “Though they’re on different paths, best friends Helen and Sam still find their way back to each other for another misadventure” in Season 2.

Sarah Lancashire is confirmed to return as Reed, Helen's spymaster and handler. The streamer has teased a little about her storyline, revealing that Reed disappears in the second season, putting Helen in a “very precarious situation, suddenly, and without her professional ally.” For those who don't know, Reed is the “puppet master and always several steps ahead of everyone else.” So, who managed to get a step ahead of her?

Among the returning cast members is Andrew Buchan, who reprises his role as Wallace Webb, Helen's husband and a UK politician. His earlier character description stated that he had been “happily married to Helen for the last eight years, and grateful that she’s the perfect homemaker.” However, in Season 2, he is “suspicious that she’s lying about her past.”
