Who Are The Traitors on The Traitors: New Blood? Their Identities Revealed

After the introductions were done, host Alan Cumming revealed who he had selected to become the Traitors this season. And Joe Vanella is one of them. He’s a 44-year-old funeral director from Wantagh, N.Y. Earlier, when he was asked whether he would rather be a Traitor or a Faithful, he chose Traitor as his answer. Well, his wish got granted! He also revealed his strategy, explaining, “[My] strategy of alliances and friends? I'm everybody's friend until I don't need them. And then that's it. I'm not going to say I don't care about them, but in the show, I'm going to be friendly to everybody. I'm not ostracizing anyone. People are going to click up, whatever, that's never bothered me in the past... I'll be on their side until the game dictates otherwise.”

Tomica Adams is the second Traitor Alan Cumming has chosen. She’s a 54-year-old pilot from Boston, MA. Her answer was the same as Joe’s (Traitor) when she was asked whether she would rather be a Traitor or a Faithful. According to her, “I think being a mother will truly help me be intuitive about what's happening in the game. I think that that's a ninth sense. But then being a pilot, working with so many people and being very in control of things; being able to hold my stress level down will be an advantage for me in this game.”

Joe and Tomica were then asked to pick the third Traitor. But it was not that easy of a task. They first had to select two accomplices who then “would be secretly tasked with a special mission to complete in plain sight amongst the other Faithful.” Joe and Tomica settled on Katie Fites as one of their accomplices. She’s a 23-year-old marketing manager from Jacksonville, Florida. She admitted while talking about her strategy that, “I’m going to give them hell. I am ready to do what feels natural. I'm going to trust my gut going into this, and I think that I have the potential to make a really fun environment while also reading people, connecting with people, and then if necessary, backstabbing people if it saves me.” Quite feisty!

Xavier Scruggs is the second accomplice of Joe and Tomica. He’s a 38-year-old MLB analyst from Wesley Chapel, Florida. Xavier thinks that “understanding leadership” will help him in the game because, to him, it’s important to know “who's the leader, who's the top dog at a certain point. And being able to insert yourself in that same type of role.” In the final minutes of the second episode, Katie and Xavier were assigned the task of fetching a blank death warrant hidden in three different locations: one in a book, one in the atrium, and one in the library. Whoever fails to bring it to the face-to-face meeting with the Traitors will get eliminated. That automatically makes the one who succeeds the third Traitor. Fans will have to wait for the third and fourth episodes, which drop together on September 24, to find out who will be successful and who will get murdered and sent home.
