NCIS Season 24 Cast: All the Major Characters Returning to the CBS Drama, Including 1 OG Star
Sean Murray as Timothy McGee
Sean Murray is confirmed to return as Special Agent Timothy McGee in Season 24. Murray has been part of the show’s cast for more than two decades. He made his first appearance as McGee in Season 1 in a recurring capacity before being promoted to a main cast member at the start of Season 2. In a recent interview with Photobook, Murray reflected on playing McGee for so long. He shared, “McGee has grown tremendously over the course of the series. I mean, he still struggles with the same stuff he always did, but he’s gotten a lot better at it. When McGee started, he was all skills and tech and really wasn’t particularly good at being social, verbalizing himself, or doing so many other things.” He added, “He’s learned to become an agent, and I think that’s a lot of what this character is about: learning to become an agent and growing as an agent.”
Wilmer Valderrama as Nicholas “Nick” Torres
Wilmer Valderrama is also returning for Season 24 as Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres. Valderrama joined NCIS at the beginning of Season 14, following the exit of longtime cast member Michael Weatherly. At the time, CBS described his role as: “a once-grounded NCIS field agent who accepted a deep-cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced. Now, he's back, and his dedication to the job and country has left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.”
Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer
Fans can also expect to see Brian Dietzen’s Dr. Jimmy Palmer in the new instalment. Dietzen made his debut as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard's medical examiner assistant in Season 1 as a recurring guest star. He was later promoted to a series regular and added to the main opening credits in Season 10, eventually taking over as the chief medical examiner.
Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines
Diona Reasonover will continue playing Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines in the latest season of NCIS. Reasonover joined the show in 2018 during Season 15 as a guest star, playing forensic graduate assistant Hines, and was promoted to a series regular starting in Season 16.
Katrina Law as Jessica Knight
Among the returning cast members is Katrina Law, who will reprise her role as Special Agent Jessica Knight. Law first appeared in the CBS procedural in May 2021 during the final two episodes of Season 18 before becoming a full series regular in Season 19.
Gary Cole as Alden Parker
Gary Cole is coming back for Season 24 as well. He will slip back into the role of Special Agent Alden Parker. Cole’s character was introduced to NCIS fans in Season 19, around the time longtime lead Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs) scaled back and exited his full-time role. Notably, CBS stressed at the time, while announcing his casting, that Parker is not “replacing” Gibbs.
Michael Weatherly as Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo
CBS has also announced that Michael Weatherly is making a comeback as Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo in Season 24. Longtime fans know that Weatherly is an OG cast member who originally joined NCIS in 2003 when the series premiered before exiting as a series regular at the end of Season 13. He then went on to star in the spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which was canceled after just one season. Now, according to the network, “Michael Weatherly is returning as Tony DiNozzo for a season-long story arc in NCIS Season 24.”
