Sullivan's Crossing Season 5: All the Major Stars Returning and Leaving After CW’s Renewal

Morgan Kohan is set to return as Dr. Maggie Sullivan in Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5. Both the actress and the network have officially announced her involvement in the upcoming season, which will once again film in Nova Scotia. Her return was confirmed when she appeared alongside Chad Michael Murray in the Instagram video announcing the show's renewal. Following the Season 4 finale, Maggie will continue to be at the center of the story as the series moves forward.

Chad Michael Murray is officially returning as Cal Jones in Season 5. His involvement was confirmed when CW renewed the series, with filming scheduled to begin in Halifax, Nova Scotia in July. As Maggie’s longtime love interest, Cal remains a key part of the drama. Season 4 ended on a hopeful note for the couple after they reconciled and Cal proposed to Maggie. But, the unexpected arrival of foster child Tracy in the finale could introduce new challenges when the story continues.

Another familiar face likely returning for Season 5 is Tom Jackson as Frank Cranebear. There has been no indication that the character is leaving the series, and Season 4 left him in a stable place. Frank remained an important part of the Timberlake community, helping run the camp alongside his wife, Edna. Since he was not involved in any major cliffhanger or accident and no exit has been reported, fans can reasonably expect to see him back when the drama returns.

Viewers can also likely expect Andrea Menard to return as Edna Cranebear in Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5. As one of the community’s most dependable and caring figures, Edna has become a beloved presence at the campground. There has been no indication that Menard is leaving the series, making her return alongside Tom Jackson’s Frank Cranebear highly probable as the story continues into the next season.

One major question mark for Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5 is Scott Patterson. The actor exited the series after Season 3, citing creative disagreements over the direction of his character, Harry “Sully” Sullivan, and requested to leave his contract. Patterson did not appear in Season 4, and there has been no confirmation regarding a return for Season 5. Although producers have not ruled out bringing Sully back, no agreement has been announced. Within the story, Sully left Timberlake behind to begin a new chapter in Ireland with his girlfriend.

Another cast member whose Season 5 status remains uncertain is Amalia Williamson, who plays Lola Gunderson. The actress appeared far less frequently in Season 4, largely because she was busy filming the Acorn TV series You're Killing Me alongside Brooke Shields. Williamson has indicated that she would like to return to Sullivan’s Crossing, but no official confirmation has been announced. Her involvement may ultimately depend on whether production schedules for Season 2 of You're Killing Me allow her to rejoin the series.
