8 New TV Shows to Watch in October on HBO Max, Paramount+ and More
War
War is billed as a “high-stakes, legal drama.” Season 1, consisting of eight episodes, follows the “explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and international film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller), as Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne stop at nothing to secure victory for their clients.” The courtroom series is scheduled to debut on October 1, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays on HBO Max.
Marshals Season 2
Our favorite dreamboat, Luke Grimes, will also be gracing screens in October. Marshals Season 2 is set to premiere on October 4. It will follow a weekly release schedule, airing new episodes on Sundays. Fans can stream the neo-Western drama live on CBS via the Paramount+ Premium plan, or they can watch it the next day through any plan on the streamer. Season 2 continues the “journey of Kayce Dutton (Grimes) as he adjusts to life as a U.S. Marshal. Throughout the season, he combines his rancher know-how with his training as a Navy SEAL to carry out justice across the state.”
Tracker Season 4
Tracker Season 4 is “expected to continue the show’s case-of-the-week format, with Colter traveling to help people in difficult situations, while the larger Shaw-family conspiracy becomes an important ongoing thread.” The upcoming installment will debut on October 4 as well and will follow a weekly release pattern. Similar to Marshals, fans who want to watch it live on CBS can do so with the Paramount+ Premium plan, while those with any regular plan can watch it the next day.
Small Prophets
Small Prophets is a “comic tale of the eccentric Michael Sleep (Pearce Quigley) who, since his darling Clea disappeared seven years ago, has lived a very ordinary life. He works in a DIY store, visits his dad Brian (Sir Michael Palin), and hopes for Clea to return. One day, Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure, and more than a little alchemy. With the recipe in hand, Michael sets out (albeit with some skepticism) to create homunculi — magical spirits that can predict the future — in the hope they have the answer to his burning question: ‘will I ever see Clea again?’” Fans looking to experience the perfect amount of longing, magic, and comedy should add the show to their watchlist. The six-episode series is set to drop on Apple TV+ on October 7.
The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 11
October will also be serving drama in heavy doses! The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 11 debuts on October 11 on Bravo and will be available to stream on Peacock the following day. After that, fans can expect new episodes weekly. RHOP Season 11 “marks a season of growth, change and unexpected turns,” the synopsis teases. “As familiar faces return and new dynamics emerge, the women of Potomac find themselves navigating shifting loyalties as renewed tensions with friendships are being tested like never before.”
Tulsa King Season 4
And there is another Taylor Sheridan show that is preparing to return with its new chapter. Tulsa King Season 4 will be sticking with a weekly episode schedule after premiering on October 16 on Paramount+. In the new season, “Dwight (Sylvester Stallone) fights to legitimize his empire, and protect his crew as corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies, and a crushing personal loss hit from every direction. Each move drags Dwight deeper into the street instincts he left behind in New York – turning Tulsa into a battleground, and Dwight into the one threat no one can afford to underestimate.”
Nobody Wants This Season 3
Nobody Wants This? No, we absolutely want this. Season 3 of the romantic comedy will see Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) “move in together — and enjoy all the ‘firsts’ that come with a stable, fulfilling love.” But Netflix has made it clear that fans can still expect “all the fun — and humor — that is signature to Joanne and Noah’s relationship.” And as is the usual style of Netflix, all 10 episodes of the upcoming installment will be released at once on October 22.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2
Now, rom-com fans should step aside because this one is for viewers who root for an anti-hero. Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is set to arrive on October 30 on Paramount+, with new episodes airing weekly on Fridays. But there is a catch. Paramount has specifically mentioned that fans will have to subscribe to its Premium plan to stream the psychological crime thriller. The new installment “furthers the bloody saga of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), introduces us to The New York Ripper and The Five Borough Killer, and marks the return of Charley, last seen with her frail mother as they apparently drove out of New York City.”
