The Traitors: New Blood is an “all-new civilian version” of the reality competition franchise. NBC notes that it is “both a throwback to Season 1 of The Traitors and a spinoff series that has its own twists.” However, both shows follow the same basic premise: “22 contestants enter Castle Ardross in Scotland having to work together in a series of missions to build up a prize fund worth up to $250,000.”
New Blood kicked off with a two-hour premiere on September 17, featuring Episodes 1 and 2. After airing a double episode on September 24 and taking a week off on October 1, the schedule is back on track, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays. The spinoff is also off to a strong start, averaging 6 million total viewers per episode for its two-episode premiere across NBC, Peacock, and multiplatform delayed viewing.
