Legends Cast: Sons of Anarchy Spinoff Reunites Charlie Hunnam With OG Cast Members in a Wild Twist
Charlie Hunnam as Jax
Charlie Hunnam is not only the creator, developer, and executive producer of the spinoff. He will also be starring in it. In the original drama, he played the role of Jackson “Jax” Teller. He served as the Vice President of SAMCRO from Season 1 to 4 of SoA, before becoming President in Seasons 5 to 7. Jax was the “son of John Teller, founder of the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club, and the stepson of Clay Morrow,” who “increasingly finds himself using the dark tactics of one father to achieve the ideals of the other.” The spinoff will see the “cast of Sons of Anarchy reunites at a fan convention after more than a decade,” where “the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show.”
Ron Perlman as Clay Morrow
Ron Perlman is also returning. He is famous for his role as Clarence “Clay” Morrow in SoA. Clay was the Club President from Seasons 1 to 4, before later becoming an antagonist and expelled member. He was killed by his stepson, Jax Teller, in Season 6. It remains unknown if his fictionalized version will meet the same fate in the spinoff.
Katey Sagal as Gemma Teller Morrow
Sons of Anarchy fans will also see Katey Sagal in the spinoff, who portrayed Gemma Teller Morrow. In the original series, FX describes Gemma as “Jax's mother, a true matriarch.” Her bio reads, “As fierce as she is nurturing, willing to go to any lengths to protect her family and domain, Gemma proves this once again when she murders Jax's wife, Tara, in a misguided effort to keep her son out of jail – adding to the wealth of dark secrets she already keeps.”
Maggie Siff as Tara Knowles
Then we have Maggie Siff, who is making her way back into the franchise. She is known for playing Dr. Tara Knowles in Sons of Anarchy. Yes, the one and only who was murdered by Gemma. Tara, a neonatal surgeon and Jax Teller's high school sweetheart, starred in the first six seasons of the FX drama.
Mark Boone Junior as Bobby Munson
Mark Boone Junior originally played Robert “Bobby Elvis” Munson, “a big man with a big voice.” And now, he's officially announced to star in Legends. For those who don't know, Bobby was a level-headed former Vice President and Secretary of SAMCRO who advised Jax from time to time and helped maintain order in the club. Unfortunately, he was killed in Season 7.
Tommy Flanagan as Chibs
Chibs is coming back too! Well, not exactly, but the actor who brought the character to life is returning. Tommy Flanagan is the one who introduced Filip “Chibs” Telford to Sons of Anarchy fans. Chibs was “born in the ghettos of Glasgow and raised on the streets of Belfast.” FX describes him as “Scrapper tough. A 'chib' is Scottish street slang for a blade. Loyal to a fault, Chibs is Jax's most trusted confidant and VP.”
Kim Coates as Tig
Kim Coates is all set to reunite with the cast. Fans of the original show know him as Alexander “Tig” Trager, who is “as ruthless as he is odd.” FX revealed in his character description that he “fears nothing except dolls. He loves puppies.”
Theo Rossi as Juice
Last but not least, Theo Rossi is also returning for Legends. He starred as Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz in SoA. As per his official bio, he was “always the most emotionally fragile member of SAMCRO.” In the FX crime show, he was the club hacker, tech specialist, and loyal enforcer, who died in Season 7.
Taylor Sheridan as David Hale
Taylor Sheridan starred as Deputy Chief David Hale in the first two seasons of the motorcycle club drama. It's not confirmed yet whether he will return in the newly announced spinoff or not. But fans have a reason to be hopeful as it is said that more cast members will be announced in the coming weeks. But, maybe not too hopeful, as Sheridan left the show himself because of a salary dispute, and the creator had to complete his arc by killing David in the first episode of Season 3.
