Chicago Fire Season 15: Here’s Who’s Returning to the NBC Drama Amid Cast Changes
Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide
Taylor Kinney is an original cast member who joined Chicago Fire in Season 1. He is confirmed to return for Season 15 as Kelly Severide. NBC gives a preview of his storyline, sharing, “Kinney has been the heart of Chicago Fire since the 2011 premiere, keeping fans guessing as the passionate Kelly Severide. Season 14 marked an epic chapter of change for Severide as he made moves to become the next commanding officer of Firehouse 51. It wasn't easy, as he faced administrative backlash, but fans can't wait to see how progress is coming along now that he's moved some of the CFD obstacles out of the way.”
Dermot Mulroney as Dom Pascal
Dermot Mulroney is also returning for the upcoming installment, but he will exit Chicago Fire early in Season 15 after completing his character's storyline, according to Deadline. Mulroney signed on for the show in Season 13 as Dom Pascal. He replaced Chief Wallace Boden, played by Eamonn Walker, who departed as a series regular at the end of Season 12. The network confirmed his return, noting, “After capturing hearts with his show-stopping performance, Mulroney is set to return in Season 15 of Chicago Fire as Firehouse 51's indomitable former Chief, Dom Pascal.”
David Eigenberg as Chris Herrmann
David Eigenberg is set to be back for Season 15 as well. Just like Taylor Kinney, Herrmann is also an original cast member of Chicago Fire, as he made his debut in Season 1. As per NBC’s preview, “Amid the ever-shifting dynamics at Firehouse 51, Eigenberg's Chris Herrmann has emerged as an anchor of the NBC nail-biter across every season of Chicago Fire. Viewers have enjoyed watching him climb the CFD ladder while holding his colleagues closest to his heart, and can't wait to see where those cherished connections go in Season 15 of Chicago Fire.”
Miranda Rae Mayo as Stella Kidd
Among the returning cast members is Miranda Rae Mayo, who will once again reprise her role as Stella Kidd. She first appeared in a recurring capacity during the fourth season before being promoted to a series regular starting in Season 5. NBC’s official bio of Kidd for Season 15 reads: “Mayo's Stella Kidd will also return in Season 15, and fans couldn't be happier to check in on the hardened sergeant. Stella has explored motherhood in recent seasons of Fire, helping welcome a foster son to the household last season with her husband, Severide. What will Stella and Severide's family look like in coming seasons? Chihards can't wait to find out.”
Joe Miñoso as Joe Cruz
Joe Miñoso is slated to return as Joe Cruz in Season 15, but it’s going to be his last installment. In July, TheWrap reported that he will appear in a handful of episodes at the start of the new season to properly wrap up his character's arc. Miñoso made his Chicago Fire debut in Season 1 as a recurring guest star before becoming a main cast member in Season 2. NBC’s preview reveals, “Joe Miñoso's beloved Cruz has long been one of the most reliable colleagues at Firehouse 51, never failing to go above and beyond for those he loves. In Season 14 of Chicago Fire, Cruz prepared to welcome another little one to his family, leading to some gripping drama within the household as his adopted son adjusted to the new chapter. Chihards can't wait to see Cruz in his new era as a dad.”
Christian Stolte as Mouch McHolland
Christian Stolte will continue to appear in Season 15 as Mouch McHolland. Stolte has been part of the Chicago Fire cast since its debut season. NBC revealed in its preview, “Where would Chicago Fire be without the Season 1 ride-or-die Mouch McHolland? A One Chicago fan favorite from the start, Stolte's Mouch has been making some power plays in recent seasons of Chicago Fire, celebrating an exciting promotion in Season 14 of the NBC nail-biter. With Firehouse 51 under new leadership, the first responders will need Mouch more than ever.”
Hanako Greensmith as Violet Mikami
Another returning star is Hanako Greensmith, who signed on for the NBC show in Season 8 as the recurring character Violet Mikami before becoming a series regular in Season 10. According to NBC, “Greensmith will also return in her longtime role as Paramedic In Charge Violet Mikami, one of Firehouse 51's most paramount players. Whether she's charming one of the firefighters or saving lives during a rescue, anytime Violet rolls up onto the scene, she commands the room.”
Jocelyn Hudon as Lizzy Novak
Jocelyn Hudon first starred in Chicago Fire in Season 12 as a recurring guest star, Lizzy Novak, before being promoted to a series regular for Season 13. NBC has announced that, “Hudon will return in Season 15 of Chicago Fire in her third season as the beloved paramedic Lizzy, who never fails to bring a smile to the firefighters' faces.” The network describes her as “bubbly, charming, and passionate about helping civilians,” and says she has become “one of Firehouse 51's most promising recruits, and her personal storyline outside of the station has been just as gripping as she grows closer to her estranged siblings and Sal Vasquez.”
Brandon Larracuente as Sal Vasquez
Brandon Larracuente was introduced as series regular Sal Vasquez last season, and he is coming back. NBC’s official synopsis states, “Introduced in Season 14 of Chicago Fire, Larracuente's Sal Vasquez is returning to Firehouse 51 to continue forging a path within the CFD. Sal boasts plenty of personal turmoil and baggage outside of the station. Still, casting his family drama aside, he turned many heads at the firehouse, forming flirtatious relationships with the paramedics.”
