See Who’s Returning for Sister Wives Season 21 as 2 Members Exit Show After 16 Years

Kody Brown’s ex-wife Christine is confirmed to return to Sister Wives Season 21. As per TLC, “This season will follow Christine, Janelle, and Meri as they try to move forward with each other and their individual love lives — all of which come with their own surprises and respective drama, of course. Will the ladies make up and kindle a new kind of friendship or will the past overtake their efforts? Will new romances take center stage as well?” Fans will find out soon enough.

As already revealed in the previous slide, Janelle is also coming back. In the Season 21 trailer, Janelle teases, “There has been a lot that has happened,” but she doesn’t specify what exactly. The trailer also reveals her new boyfriend, Peter, whom she describes by saying, “There are no red flags. Peter is so nice.” Likewise, Peter has nothing but nice things to say about Janelle. He states, “She’s a wonderful woman.”

Meri will also star alongside fellow ex-wives Christine and Janelle in the forthcoming season. In the trailer, Meri notes that, “There have been a few changes,” and reveals, “My goal is to find where I’m going to be for the rest of my life and check out different men while I’m at it.” The trailer also shows Meri shopping for a wedding dress and meeting a new man. She looks ready to walk down the aisle in Season 21.

Much to the surprise of fans, Kody Brown is no longer part of the cast. The trailer confirms, “After 16 years of filming Sister Wives, Kody & Robyn will not be returning to the show.” In a 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Kody openly mentioned that he enjoyed Special Forces more than Sister Wives. That should have been a clear enough sign of his exit. In his words, “Sadly, Sister Wives has really become an experience of criticism and backbiting. The experience with Special Forces was life-affirming in the sense that I got so much out of it, almost like a pivot away from my life, my real life.” For those who don’t know, he participated in Season 4 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, where he made it all the way to the final episode before being disqualified.

Robyn, Kody Brown’s only remaining wife, has also left the series. All the ex-wives expressed varying levels of disbelief over Kody and Robyn’s exit announcement in the trailer. Christine admits, “I don’t know what it means. I have no idea.” Janelle says, “I was flabbergasted, really, when I got the news,” while Meri shares, “I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show.” As of now, Robyn and Kody have not publicly commented on their departure from the show.
