FBI Season 9: All the Major Characters Leaving and Returning to the Hit Crime Drama
Missy Peregrym
FBI wrapped up its eighth season on May 18. And with CBS already renewing the hit procedural for Season 9, viewers have started wondering which cast members will remain part of the team. One actor who appears firmly set to return is Missy Peregrym, who has played Special Agent Maggie Bell since the series premiered in 2018. In March, Peregrym did an interview with Deadline. When asked if she planned to leave the show, the actress answered “No.” She also spoke about why the role matters to her, saying, “I think it’s really important what we’re doing, because we’re highlighting how to move forward. And this is exactly why I do what I do. I hope this makes people feel seen and that they want to keep going after such a horrific experience, and that they don’t give up.”
Zeeko Zaki
Zeeko Zaki has been part of FBI since the CBS series premiered in 2018, playing Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan from the very first episode. While there have been no reports suggesting the actor is leaving ahead of Season 9, OA’s future inside the story appears to be taking a risky turn. The Season 8 finale ended with OA losing his job before being approached at a bar by antagonist Anna (Claire Coffee). She offered him a role on her task force. The finale briefly made it look like OA might seriously consider switching sides after staring at her business card alone in a bar. But, the final twist revealed he had contacted Maggie and Isobel instead. Saying “I’m in” over the phone, OA confirmed he would infiltrate Anna’s operation from inside, setting up an undercover storyline that could shape much of Season 9.
Jeremy Sisto
Jeremy Sisto is also expected to return for Season 9 of FBI. Sisto has been part of the series since its debut season in 2018, when he first appeared as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine. Over the years, Jubal has become one of the show’s most familiar and dependable figures, often leading major investigations and handling pressure inside the FBI office. There have been no reports suggesting Sisto plans to leave the CBS procedural, making his return for the upcoming season look very likely. So, viewers can expect Jubal to continue playing a major role as the team takes on new cases and high-risk operations when Season 9 arrives.
Alana de la Garza
Alana de la Garza appears set to remain with FBI for Season 9. De la Garza first appeared during Season 1 in a guest role before officially becoming part of the main cast the following year. She was originally meant to star in the spinoff FBI: Most Wanted, but plans changed after Sela Ward exited the parent series. Producers then moved De la Garza to FBI full-time, where she stepped into the leadership role as Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille. Since then, Isobel has become one of the show’s key authority figures, overseeing the New York field office and guiding the team through major investigations. At the moment, there are no indications the actress plans to leave the CBS series anytime soon.
John Boyd
John Boyd is likely to return for Season 9 of FBI. Boyd joined the CBS procedural during its second season in 2019, stepping into the role of Special Agent Stuart Scola. Since then, Scola has become a fan favorite and an important part of the team’s core lineup. There has been no indication that Boyd plans to exit the series, and viewers fully expect to see him back when the show returns. Honestly, removing Scola from the squad would probably spark plenty of backlash from longtime fans, so his spot on the series appears pretty secure heading into the next season.
Juliana Aiden Martinez
Juliana Aidén Martinez also seems set to continue with FBI for another season. Martinez joined the CBS series as a regular cast member in Season 8, making her debut as Special Agent Eva Ramos. Since arriving on the show, Eva has become part of the team’s lineup. Also, Martinez previously shared that she was very happy with her experience on the drama. During an interview with Us Weekly earlier this year, the actress said that, “I’m really happy being here and telling the story of Eva Ramos. I’m open to whatever comes but I’m also really happy where I’m at.” So, fans can likely expect Eva to remain part of the series in Season 9.
