Marshals Season 2 Cast: Luke Grimes and Logan Marshall-Green, See Who’s Returning
Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton
We don’t think any fan ever doubted Luke Grimes’ return in Marshals Season 2. Grimes leads the series as Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Kayce Dutton, a former rancher and U.S. Navy SEAL, so he’s of course coming back. Grimes recently talked about what fans can expect from the upcoming installment while chatting with Entertainment Weekly. He shared, “We’re going a little bit more into some backstory, which we started to do in season 1 anyway. You know so much about Kayce already, but I feel like the other characters are starting to catch up as far as their relationship with the audience. But as far as like the tone, the pace, it’s a lot of the same things that I liked about the first season.” When asked if there’s a chance Kayce might be interested in a romantic relationship, he teased, “Yeah, I think so — obviously slowly and cautiously.”
Logan Marshall-Green as Pete “Cal” Calvin
Logan Marshall-Green will also reprise the role of Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Pete “Cal” Calvin in Season 2. The cliffhanger ending of Season 1 left fans gasping when he was suddenly attacked by a group of armed assailants, and it was not revealed exactly what happened to him. But, the actor has confirmed that Cal will survive, but not without “consequences.” Marshall-Green spoke with Collider in July, where he noted, “I don’t want to give anything away because there are going to be some ramifications for these marshals and consequences.” He added, “And as I’ve said before, not to really give anything away, we have to finish that scene, so I am shooting Season 2. But you’re going to get a lot more of those consequences, and they’re going to ripple down.”
Arielle Kebbel as Isabel “Belle” Skinner
Deputy U.S. Marshal Belle was with Cal when they were ambushed in the final moments of Season 1. But, just like Cal, she will survive the attack and appear in Season 2. In a June interview with TV Insider, Arielle Kebbel, who plays Belle, shared, “Season 2, we pick up right where we left off. [Cal and Belle] are not unscathed. I’m so used to Belle being in compromising situations at this point. I feel like it’s almost kind of a little bit of a character trait. She gets hurt a lot and also keeps going.” While talking about Belle and Cal’s growing romance, the actress didn’t confirm what lies ahead, but instead left viewers with more questions: “What does this mean for the two of them? Since he is in front of me, if one of us goes down, how do we get out?”
Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz
Ash Santos’ Andrea Cruz is set to be back as well. Cruz is a Deputy U.S. Marshal who accepted a promotion in Washington, D.C., in the Season 1 finale, but now she is not so sure about it. As Santos put it, “It's that thing of, when you finally get what you've been wanting, do you still want it?” Speaking with Bleeding Cool, she explained, “There's a lot she's going through. As much as she tries to make it seem like she's not really fazed, there's a lot of doubt for her because there's a lot that she didn't realize she fell in love with here in Montana that she doesn't know if she's really ready to walk away from.”
Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle
Tatanka Means, who plays Deputy U.S. Marshal Miles Kittle, is sticking around for Season 2 as well. He was suspended in Season 1 but helped defend East Camp during the shootout in the finale. He’s an important part of the team and will continue to play a key role in the storyline going forward.
Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton
Brecken Merrill stars as Tate Dutton, the teenage son of Kayce and the late Monica Dutton. He remains part of the Marshals cast. In the Season 1 finale, Tate was kidnapped by rancher Tom Weaver, whom Kayce thought was his ally. In a recent conversation with TV Insider, Luke Grimes shared, “The big arc this season is Kayce trying to deal with the repercussions of the things Tate has gone through, throughout his life. No one should have to see that much violence and darkness. Kayce takes swings at trying to help Tate. Sometimes those aren’t the right things. Sometimes those push them apart. I find it inspiring, whether he’s failing or not, he’s really trying, and that’s what it’s all about for him.”
