Reminders of Him
Looking for an emotional romance this weekend? Reminders of Him premiered on Peacock on July 10 and is streaming now. Based on Colleen Hoover's 2022 bestseller, the film follows Kenna, a woman released from prison six years after serving time for her boyfriend's death. Determined to reconnect with the daughter she gave birth to behind bars, she faces rejection from almost everyone except Ledger, her late boyfriend's best friend. Their unexpected bond offers both a chance to heal and maybe even fall in love.
Hamnet
If you're up for an emotional roller coaster this weekend, Hamnet has your name on it. The film is now streaming on Netflix after officially arriving on the platform on July 6. The film first premiered on Peacock in March and imagines how William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, coped with the devastating loss of their son. Directed by Chloé Zhao, the emotional drama has been winning over viewers with its heartfelt storytelling. Just be warned: you may want to keep a box of tissues close by.
Redux Redux
What if you could jump between universes to rewrite your worst day? That's the chilling idea behind Redux Redux (also known as Find. Kill. Repeat.), which began streaming on Hulu on July 10. The sci-fi thriller follows Irene, a grieving mother who repeatedly travels through parallel worlds to hunt the man who killed her daughter, hoping one version of reality still has her child alive.
The Long Walk
Think The Running Man, but with a slower and somehow even more nerve-racking setup. The Long Walk, based on Stephen King's novel, arrived on HBO Max on July 10. Set in a dystopian America, the thriller follows 50 teenage boys who participate in a deadly televised contest where they must keep walking at a minimum speed of 3 mph or be executed. The brutal game ends only when one survivor is left standing, earning unimaginable wealth and the chance to have any wish granted.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come
Thought Grace was finally safe after the first movie? Think again. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrived on Hulu on July 2, throwing Grace straight back into another nightmare. Picking up immediately after the first film, the sequel sees her accused of murdering the Le Domas family before she's hunted by five even more dangerous families. With her sister Faith caught in the crossfire, the pair must outsmart their pursuers in another bloody fight for survival.
