Gabriel Fernandez's mom and boyfriend may have tortured him for their own sexual gratification, claims documentary
Gabriel Fernandez's mother Pearl and her boyfriend might have tortured and abused him for their own sexual gratification and as a foreplay fetish. Journalist Melissa Chadburn claims this in the Netflix documentary portraying the eight-year-old's tragic life and death.
Gabriel was tortured to death in 2013 by his mother and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre. 'The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez' highlights all that went wrong and all that could have been done to help him. The child was subjected to horrors that are unimaginable to most people and eventually succumbed to all the abuse.
Bizarre Audio Recordings
LA County Sheriff's Department detective Tim O'Quinn, lead investigator in the Gabriel Fernandez case shared that he and his team had set up secret audio recorders in the Antelope Valley courthouse holding cells where Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre were being held.
While the device in Aguirre's cell did not function properly, the one in Pearl's cell did. The audio recording shows Pearl trying to talk to Aguirre through the cell wall and confirm that they were both telling the same story. As Melissa Chadburn reveals in the documentary, Pearl could be heard asking him, "Babe, did you say it was an accidental death? Do you know why they got that murder charge on me? Because you said I was inside the room. And I said no, that I wasn't there."
She goes on to share how "they just don't know about the torture part" before saying that Gabriel had admitted to falling off his bike when asked about how the child had got so many injuries. In an unexpected and weird twist, the conversation then suddenly turned sexual. Pearl asks Aguirre to use his imagination and recall a time when she was "laying on the bed and playing with herself".
"It does speak to whether or not this whole thing was a form of foreplay for them," Chadburn said. Once the pair had been arrested, the police confiscated many items from their house and made some startling discoveries on their cell phones and also checked their text messages.
The text messages read:
April 15th:
"Aguirre- What you doing babe? Pearl- Still here with Gab Aguirre- Still in the cold water that sucks for him."
May 7:
"Aguirre- Love you babes. Stop giving him attention Pearl- am not, it just hurts Aguirre- I know that's y I told you ill handle him. What you doing babe Pearl- Looking at murder cases."
As per text messages found on Pearl and Aguirre's cellphone, Chadburn shared, "it seemed like they would relate to one another through mutually abusing this child".
Gabriel was given up by Pearl when he was born in 2005, but she got custody of him in 2012, and had him move in with her and her boyfriend. According to Gabriel's school teacher, the kid would often show up with bruises, scratches, a busted lip, and a swollen face. The child was starved, beaten black and blue, forced to eat rotten spinach, cat feces, and even his own vomit.
Pearl had called 911 in 2013 to report that Gabriel had stopped breathing after he slipped and hit his head. The paramedics found that he had broken ribs, a cracked skull, pellets from a BB gun lodged in his skin. Gabriel was rushed to the hospital and declared brain dead. He passed away two days later.
