Foster parents who forced children to 'put pee diapers' in their mouth could be staring at 20 years in jail if convicted
Authorities have dubbed the home of Diane and Timothy Combs as a 'house of horrors'. The couple faces a total of 22 different counts and if convicted could see 20 years in jail.
A foster parent couple from Deaborn County has been put in prison after they were accused of abusing multiple children in their home. Authorities have dubbed the home of Diane and Timothy Combs as a 'house of horrors'. The complaints of the child abuse that was allegedly taking place in the home were more than enough to put the couple in jail over the holiday weekend. The couple faces a total of 22 different counts with some of the charges being for both of them together while the others are for each of them individually. Prosecutor Lynn Deddens said in the court that the couple has been involved in fostering children from February 2013. She said: "From 2014 to present, they fostered over 38 children."
WLWT5 reported that the Deaborn County Sheriff's Office had received a disturbing phone call of possible abuse taking place in the home. When officers went to check on the home, they found eight children as well as incriminating pictures and videos. This led to the couple being arrested on August 31.

The images and the videos were proof of repeated instances of possible abuse from December 2016 to July 2018. At the time of the abuse, there were eight children in the home who were between the ages of 2 and 16. Four of the children, at the time, were foster children. The couple had been babysitting three of the children at the time and the 16-year-old was adopted and had a disability.
Deddens said: "One of the foster children … gave some detailed descriptions on what she had witnessed, which was Diane Combs smacking one of the minors, who was a 6-year-old, in the face, kicking them in the face, kicking them in the leg. They also observed her husband Tim, smack another one of the kids across the face and grab the hair of another child."
The affidavits that were taken of the children show that they received multiple beatings. The images and videos show one child being forced to put a dirty diaper in his mouth as punishment. Deddens said: "He was 6 years old. He was noted in the affidavit saying, ‘When she's mean, we pee our pants at night; she let us do squats and we have diapers in our mouth -- pee diapers."
All of the children have since been removed from the home and the Combs' could be facing more than 20 years in prison if they are convicted. They are currently in jail on a $250,000 bond as well as an additional $75,000 cash bond.
The investigators have said that they are looking for any other potential victims and are asking that anyone who has any information should immediately contact the sheriff's department. The Combs are scheduled to make their next court appearance on October 5.
