What is the plot of 'Fool Me Once'?

Embark on the riveting journey of Maya Stern, confronting the brutal murder of her husband, Joe. Maya's installation of a nanny cam unveils a shocking revelation, challenging her understanding of Joe's death.

Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce leads the homicide investigation, while Maya's niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, unravel the truth about their mother's murder. Are these cases connected?

'Fool Me Once' has been adapted from the Harlan Coben novel of the same title, as part of a collaboration with Netflix that encompasses several of his works.

The official synopsis of the novel on Coben’s website reads, "Former special ops pilot Maya, home from the war, sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her two-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe—who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier."

It further adds, "The provocative question at the heart of the mystery: Can you believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you desperately want to? To find the answer, Maya must finally come to terms with deep secrets and deceit in her own past before she can face the unbelievable truth about her husband—and herself."
