'Follow Me to Daisy Hills': Meet Cindy Busby and rest of the cast of Hallmark's romantic drama
The upcoming feel-good romance, 'Follow Me to Daisy Hills', is a part of Hallmark Channel's annual ‘Fall Harvest’ original movie lineup, which starts from September 19. So, for five weekends this fall, Hallmark will telecast a new movie every Saturday, starting with 'Follow Me to Daisy Hills'.
The plot revolves around Jo and Blake. Jo realizes that her family-owned general store in Daisy Hills (built by her late mother) isn’t doing great business. To help the store her father Duke calls up none other than Jo’s ex-boyfriend Blake, a former Daisy Hills resident-turned-New York business consultant. After an awkward meet-up and initial disagreements, the two former lovers agree to work together. Soon they find themselves falling back in love again. But things just go as smoothly as expected. When Blake is approached for his dream job in New York City, the two must decide what future holds for them.
The film was earlier named ‘Love at Daisy Hills’ but was renamed to 'Follow Me to Daisy Hills'. Excited to know what happens to the two leads? Before you watch the movie, here’s a look at the cast.
Cindy Busby
The Canadian actress plays Jo, who loves her family and her life in Daisy Hills. Jo works at her family-owned local shop ‘The Daisy Hills Store’, which was started by her parents Duke and Irene years ago.
The actress is known for her role as Ashley Stanton in the drama ‘Heartland’. Busby also acted in the 2008 romcom ‘Picture This’ starring Ashley Tisdale and has appeared in shows such as ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘Supernatural’. She has also been a part of numerous other Hallmark Channel television movies such as ‘Unleashing Mr Darcy’, ‘Royal Hearts’ and ‘Love in the Forecast’. The actress has guest-starred on USA's ‘Rush’, TNT's ‘Proof’ and had a recurring role on Hallmark Channel's ‘Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove’. Busby was also a part of the 2013 action movie ‘12 Rounds 2: Reloaded’, directed by Roel Reiné. Apart from Busby, the film stars Randy Orton, Tom Stevens and Brian Markinson. It is the sequel to 2009's ‘12 Rounds’ starring John Cena.
Marshall Williams
He plays Blake, Jo’s high school sweetheart who shifted to NYC to pursue his career. Blake is confident that he can help Jo’s family-owned store and heads to his hometown Daisy Hills.
Williams was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a contestant on Canadian Idol in 2007 and 2008. His love for music can be seen on his Instagram page, which has videos of him singing and playing various musical instruments. Williams has appeared in the Disney Channel Original movie ‘How to Build a Better Boy’ and was also there in the popular television series ‘Glee’. He starred in the sixth and final season of ‘Glee’. Williams essayed the role of Spencer Porter, a member of the McKinley High School football team who joins the glee club. His resume also includes small roles on TV shows such as ‘Being Erica’, ‘Saving Hope’, ‘Alphas’, and ‘My Babysitter’s a Vampire’.
Apart from the two protagonists, the rest of the cast includes Jade Michael (as Sofi), Paul Essiembre (as Duke), Sharon Bajer (as Carol), Adrian McLean (as Bob) and Erik Athavale (as Henry).
'Follow Me to Daisy Hills' will premiere on Saturday, September 19 at 9 pm ET on Hallmark.
