NICEVILLE, FLORIDA: A Florida teacher and soccer coach has been arrested and charged with a felony sex crime after allegedly sexually abusing a female student for two years, when the student was 15-years-old. This has been happening since 2018.

Hayley Morgan Hallmark, 35, who was working as a teacher and soccer coach at CW Ruckel Middle School in Niceville, was arrested on Friday, February 5, by the Okaloosa County Police Department on a charge “of lewd and lascivious conduct with a student by an authority figure,” a news release says.

“Okaloosa County teachers represent the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, and morality,” stated Superintendent Marcus Chambers in the Sheriff’s Department release. “When an educator fails to live up to that high standard, we’re all impacted. Student safety and well-being is our highest priority, and we expect our employees’ conduct to be consistent with that priority.”

As per the news release, Hallmark is accused of “having a sexual relationship with a student between August 2018 and August 2020.” The student was 15 when the abuse started, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The probe began on February 4, “after the victim confided in a teacher at Niceville High School. The information was then immediately reported by school officials to the School Resource Officer."

Hallmark started the relationship by texting the minor girl, and then sexting her, before “leading to multiple physical encounters at multiple locations".

“Superintendent Marcus Chambers placed a Ruckel Middle School employee on administrative leave on Thursday after learning of allegations of inappropriate behavior involving a student,” it reads.

According to ClickOrlando, the teen and Hallmark had multiple sexual encounters in the teacher's classroom after school. The teen also stated that both of them also performed various sex acts on each other at both of their homes, the arrest report shows.

The minor allowed an investigator to look through the contents of her phone, which reportedly revealed evidence confirming the illicit relationship, according to court documents. According to Hallmark's profile on the Ruckel Middle School's website, she has taught eighth-grade advanced US history and sixth-grade world cultures. She previously taught at Bellview Middle School in Pensacola and was named the 2011 Escambia County Social Studies Teacher of the Year.

“[The teen] explained the defendant and she would perform these acts in the classroom by tilting the classroom cameras away and leaning against the classroom door so no one could enter,” according to a report by The Post.

Hallmark's Facebook account which is now down, suggested that she is married to Jason Hallmark since 2015. In September 2020, she wrote, “So I have the best husband ever. He brought he lunch and then shortly after I had a ‘Beautiful delivery’ the office said. I sent some kids to get it and this is what they came back with. Thank you. Love you!!” Her Facebook page had a lot of pictures of the couple.

According to online court records, a felony plea is set in the case for March 2021.
