Five-week-old puppy abandoned on Christmas Day by cruel owners euthanized on welfare grounds
A five-week-old puppy was found cruelly abandoned in an alleyway on Christmas Day by his owners and it has been reported that the little animal is now dead. The small merle-patterned pup was in a "terrible state" when a kindhearted stranger found him in a cardboard box in an alley in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The pup was not able to use his hind legs and veterinarians believe that he may have been paralyzed.
In spite of all their best efforts, vets were unable to save the puppy. The RSPCA has now launched an investigation into the incident because they are worried about the puppy's mother.
Inspector Dave Holgate, who collected the pup and took him to a vet nearby, told Mirror Online: "Unfortunately, the little crossbreed puppy was in a terrible state."
