First Presidential Debate 2020: Is it right to demonize Adderall? Internet slams Trump-Biden's 'drug test' jabs
New York City's ex-mayor, Rudy Giuliani, claimed without evidence on Tuesday, September 29, that Joe Biden has dementia and pops pills to stay on message, outlandish claims that made his Fox News interviewers visibly uncomfortable. Now, the co-creator of Showtime's 'Billions', Brian Koppelman, has tweeted that Adderall can be a "life-saver" for people suffering from "Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)". All these claims came after President Donald Trump asked Joe Biden to take a drug test before or after the first Presidential debate.
"The man has dementia. There's no doubt about it," Giuliani said on national television. In addition to the startling claims about a medical condition that has been denied by Biden's team, Giuliani also suggested that Biden takes Adderall, a stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder. "He can get through (the debate). I think the President is quite right to say that maybe he's taken Adderall," said Giuliani before being cut off by the hosts of the show, who were visibly uncomfortable.
This wasn't the end to the 'Adderall' talk, as Koppelman also tweeted, "All this demonizing of Adderall: if one needs it (not snorted, prescribed and titrated appropriately), it is nothing to be ashamed of. I have ADHD, have my whole life, and at times Adderall was a life-saver for me. True ADHD really impedes on a lot. The right meds help."

As soon as Koppelman's tweet came in light, some agreed with him and said, "Seriously. People demonize a legitimate drug that helps people when they’re able to politicize it. That said, doctors over prescribe adderall to children and that needs to be looked into. But adderall is a very very important drug to a lot of people who genuinely need it," and "Also truth - if adderall makes you high with glazed over eyes then you don’t really need adderall. I am prescribed high amounts of adderall and have never once felt the slightest high from it."

Another one agreed and said, "Thank you! I agree. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 22 and have taken it for 6 years. Adult ADHD is real. I wish I’d gotten tested when I was younger. Also, you should research on your own. And at the end of the day it’s up to you to take it or not take it, and to do responsibly."

And in no time, people started slamming Trump for asking Biden to take a drug test, as one Internet user wrote, "If Trump didn't have anything to hide about his taxes, he could 'own the liberal media fake news' and just release his tax returns. But instead, he's guilty so he asked Biden to take a drug test," while another one wrote, "Trump challenged Biden to a drug test hoping he would decline...... so Trump would feel confident that he would not be asked to be drug tested."

While some said that Trump is really "high" and wrote, "Trump constantly projects his own insecurities and fears onto his enemies/opponents. So, I mean, he asked Biden to take a drug test ... Sooo: Armchair psycho-analytic verdict? Dude’s real high."

One said, "They’re accusing Biden of taking adderall because Trump is addicted to adderall. They’re accusing Biden of having dementia because Trump has dementia. They’re accusing Hunter Biden of shady Russian deals because Don Jr. confessed to treasoning with Russia. Any questions?" and another one said, "You will see Trump sweating soon and the Adderall will start to drip out of his nostrils. @realDonaldTrump."
