First GOP Debate: Internet hails Nikki Haley for calling out Republican party for raising US debt
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: The first GOP debate ahead of the 2024 presidential elections saw the former Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, tear into the damaging effects of the increase in national debt caused by her own party, along with critiquing President Joe Biden.
The 51-year-old, who served as the US ambassador to the United Nations, went on record to state that it was not only President Biden who added to the US National debt but also former President Donald Trump who added nearly $8 trillion to the woes of the nation.
On the night of the debate, Nikki emerged as the logical and coherent voice for many and was praised by the viewers for her independent stand on crucial matters.
However, she also tussled with Vivek Ramaswamy and said that he would “make America less safe as he has no foreign policy experience.” The highlight was still her calling out both Republicans and Democrats for raising US debt.
Nikki Haley blames Republicans for adding to US National debt
The former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley took no prisoners as she spoke out her mind.
When the moderators of the GOP debate informed her that the successful American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy was beating her in the polls, she instantly interjected and replied that she did not “care about the polls.”
Nikki said, “I don’t care about the polls. I care about the fact that no one is telling the American people the truth. The truth is that Biden did not do this to us. Our Republicans did this to us too.”
She elaborated that it was Republicans who passed the $2.2 trillion Covid stimulus package which left the country with 90 million people on Medicaid and 42 million people on food stamps.
Nikki stated that she could fix the excessive government spending and bring down the debt of the nation by “eliminating the earmarks brought back by the Republicans.”
She later criticized the members of her own party - Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, and Tim Scott for voting to raise the debt and blamed former President Donald Trump for adding $8 trillion debt to the nation.
“Biden didn’t do this to us… the Republicans did it too.”

A third said, “She’s not wrong. Even if I disagree on some or most things, I can respect calling out your own when you feel they’re in the wrong.”
The same person further added, “Both sides need to be holding themselves accountable for their own actions instead of pointing the finger but doing nothing about it.”

A sixth mentioned, “So, telling the truth about one's own party is weird and unacceptable now? She probably just got my vote with that truth.”
