A transsexual black woman has allegedly been missing for over 24 hours, according to a flood of pictures and information being tweeted by netizens, of one Sai who is said to have been kidnapped. The hashtag #FindSai has been trending as Twitter users are running helter-skelter, looking for ways to locate them.

"Sai is a young Black trans femme who is at an increased risk of facing violence and has been kidnapped and is in the cincinnati ohio area. on their instagram story they posted a quick video in the dark and said "tall, 40-50 latino male, about 5'10, please i'm in Cincinnati Ohio, i'm in the basement he could be back any second please help" Police aren't doing enough. Keep using and spreading the hashtag and keep putting pressure on police to prioritize getting them to safety.! #FindSai", said a post that has been making the rounds on Twitter.

An Instagram video of Sai looking terrified and asking for help is also making the rounds. "YALL PEASE HELP!!! PLEASE CAN ANYBODY GO TO SAI OR HELP SAI IN ANY WAY IM SO SCARED RIGHT NOW. PLEASE RT THIS IS URGENT!!! POSTED 7 MINUTES AGO," the tweet read. The video was from Sai's alleged Instagram account @onesweetpotatoes.

Where is Sai?

The Columbus and Cincinnati police are both looking into the issue. "#findsai the police are looking in columbus because they pinged their phone to there but sai said they were in cincinnati. it’s possible they’ve been moved but it’s also possible that they posted the instagram story on a different phone and the police could be in the wrong place", said a tweet. Another tweet quoted the Cincinnati police saying that Sai has moved and is currently in Columbus, Ohio. "#FINDSAI i recently spoke the cincinnati police and they said that sai is currently in columbus, ohio. all the information about them has been moved to the columbus police department".

Sai's Instagram handle has been made private. The only information available there now is a GoFundMe link that says "Help a Black trans woman FFS, SRS, & survival". Donations saying "PLEASE WE HAVE TO FIND THEM", started pouring in around 1 am, February 17. The situation has worried people across social media. A tweet read: "#findsai please don't share the exact location Sai has been found at. This tag is gaining traction, and there are violent transphobes who can now watch the situation. Sharing their exact address can put Sai in more danger."

Is Sai really okay?

To make matters more mysterious, another tweet was sent out at around 2 am, where Sai said, that they were 'fine' and that everything has 'been blown out of proportion'. They thanked everyone for their messages and signed off. Fans are wondering about the veracity of her claim, saying, "Sai just posted this to story. still zero confirmation this is not at gunpoint. #findsai".

Sai's roommate, Yoel (@princessculo), shared Sai's video as his Instagram story around midnight on February 16, where he shared Sai's name (Sasha) and said, "I just want her to get back home safe please." Following that post, he sent out another one two hours later, a repost by one @_deevious, which said her last name is 'Land' and to contact her or princessculo, if anyone has information on Sai.

"From what we know she was going to stay with a friend in Ohio not her family. Her roommate has reached out to said friend via IG but she left them on read so we are very concerned and confused," said the Instagram story.

An hour later, princessculo shared yet another story that confused Twitter users. "This their roomate but seriously im still mot buying it? No confirmation on the police scanner or from sai themself? Something seriously suspicious is going on #findsai"

Reddit, too, has been trying to make sense of the incident. "They posted a clearly coaxed "I'm okay" video and some text completely out of character for them. No official word from them or the Columbus PD. Those close to Sai are still unable to reach them personally but socials have been taken over," said a post on Reddit.

#FindMia — a false alarm

Close on the heels of Sai's alleged kidnapping, another hashtag, #FindMia started making the rounds as netizens claimed that yet another transgender woman has been kidnapped. However, this claim turned out to be a faux pas on part of some Internet detectives, and it was found that Mia was neither missing, nor trans, and that Sai was having a rough mental health patch which 'worried their friends'.

The Columbus and Cincinnati police are both looking into the matter. "#FINDSAI i recently spoke the cincinnati police and they said that sai is currently in columbus, ohio. all the information about them has been moved to the columbus police department"

The Cincinnati Police Department and the Columbus Ohio Police are investigating the matter. MEAWW has got in touch with the Columbus Ohio Police and are awaiting a response.
