BRIT Awards 2018: Feathers and glitters don't always make a good fashion statement
Millie Bobby Brown, Dua Lipa and Camila Cabello makes it to the best dressed. Justin Timberlake suffers an epic fail
Music’s best names came under one roof on Wednesday night at London’s O2 Arena for the BRIT Awards, one of the most extravagant nights in the British music calendar. Pop stars and celebrities walked the red carpet in statement gowns and bow ties, posing for the camera and allowing the audience to imbibe their finest looks.
With many misses and few fashion hits, we list the artistes in best and worst dressed.
Millie Bobby Brown
The 14-year-old never ceases to surprise with her uber chic style. For the glamorous evening, she wore a white polka dot ruffle dress by design house Rodarte. Many critics cite she dresses beyond her age but I think the tiered dress in a tulle material makes the Stranger Things star look the best of her age, and fashion sense. Hair and makeup were done right with glowy touches and the look was accentuated with pink strappy sandals.
It isn’t worst fashion but weird fashion ever since Justin has donned the woodsy vibe look with the red scarf and double-breasted jacket.
The 'I dont give a f**k singer' not only took home the BRIT award for Best British Female Artist and Best British Breakthrough but was also crowned one of the best dressed. The red carpet established that ruffles and feathers are in as Dua Lipa made a spectacular entrance in a huge baby pink tiered tulle gown by Giambattista Valli. With raised front and long train, the 22-year-old showed how to make an entrance like a boss. But things soon went downhill when one of her camera moments put her down on knees with an uncanny resemblance to the scene from the movie Bridesmaid.
One look and you wish she had done something about her look before showing up on the red carpet in small sunglasses and platform shoes paired with an ill fitting beige suit and that too braless. Well, she’s always been fashion forward, this time with the look from the 70s.
Dressed in ethereal sheer blue, the 20-year-old singer wowed the audience with her pretty look featuring a halter neckline and keyhole cutout to reveal a bit of cleavage.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star showed up in a daring look and it did not go down well. Wearing a deconstructed knit and tulle gown by Matty Bovan, the Swedish actress put her own twist with a contrasting purple belt and a varsity jacket. It was distastefully done.
Looking chic in a plunging sequin minidress with shoulder pads, the 30-year-old model got the 80s glamour back in a Saint Lauren outfit .
The 27-year-old singer showed up in strapless feather gowns by Ralph & Russo. Though the dramatic silhouettes adds an element of romance, I believe the feathers were overdone for this red carpet making her look like an expensive rug.
Stormzy's girlfriend, who hosted a Facebook live of the event alongside Professor Green, looked super sharp in a pink glittery coat dress by Henry Holland. She stylishly paired with metallic pink flower-embellished sandals.
The 21-year-old fashionista was a fashion-miss this time in a glittering black and blue Ralph Lauren dress. Her dark lipstick to perhaps bring out her darker shade caused a bit of a confusion with the look.
