'FBOY Island' is 'Love Island' meets 'Bachelorette'. In a rare move, HBO Max created a reality show that is cheeky, fun, and (hopefully) a healthy mix of most dating shows we have witnessed in the recent past.

In the weeks leading up to the show's release, you can binge on 'Love Island', Katie Thurston's 'The Bachelorette', Netflix's 'Too Hot To Handle' Season 2, and 'Love Is Blind' to get an idea about what to expect from the show.

Release date and how to watch

On July 12, HBO Max released the official trailer of 'FBOY Island' which had drama, heartbreak, and controversy written all over it. The first three of the 10-episode series will premiere on July 29, Thursday on the streaming platform. The remaining episodes will drop in batches of three and four on August 5 and 12, respectively.

Plot and cast

We'll admit, the quest to differentiate between the "nice guys" from "Fboys" is going to be a tough one. In the trailer, we learn that some of the men appearing on 'FBOY Island' have confessed to the producers that they are in it only for the money. What's confusing is these very men are part of a large group that claims to be all about real love.

The official synopsis reads: "'FBOY Island follows three women, Nakia Renee, CJ Franco, and Sarah Emig, who move to a tropical island where they’re joined by 24 men – 12 self-proclaimed 'Nice Guys' looking for love, and 12 self-proclaimed 'FBoys', there to compete for cold, hard cash. The women will navigate the dating pool together with the hope of finding a lasting love connection. By the finale, all will be revealed – who is a Nice Guy, who is an FBoy, and who the women ultimately choose. 'FBOY Island' is a social experiment that asks the age-old question: Can FBoys truly reform or do Nice Guys always finish last?" Joining the group at the lovefest will be host Nikki Glaser. She is known for her extensive stand-up comedy work and also film titles such as 'Train Wreck' and 'I Feel Pretty'.

Showrunners

Produced by STXalternative, the concept of 'FBOY Island' was created by Elan Gale who is executive producing for TheYearOfElan Productions alongside Jason Goldberg for STXalternative, Ben Bitonti, Glaser, and showrunner Sam Dean.

Trailer

In a day, the trailer has clocked in almost half a million views. Clearly, the fans are excited for the steamy games to begin and we cannot wait to see if the ladies find their match on this incredibly fun show.
