A man has been arrested after he allegedly slit the throats of his wife and teen daughter in front of his little girls. Marcin Zdun reportedly tried to flee the scene after the attack, however, he was pinned down by neighbors. According to reports, the incident happened in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England when Marcin, a night packing worker at Tesco, allegedly attacked his wife and daughter before fleeing. However, when the suspect’s other young daughters fled the house screaming and telling a neighbor, “Mummy isn't very well because Daddy is stabbing her in the throat”, local residents chased him and pinned him down.

Police were called to the place shortly before 3 pm on Monday, June 1, after neighbors heard terrified screams from the house of the suspect. The officers found the body of 18-year-old Nikoleta Zdun, while the wife of the accused, Aneta Zdun, was found alive but died a short time later.

Residents also reportedly told officials how some brave locals ran after Marcin and tackled him. It was said that two “big” builders chased down and “flattened” the suspect, who had not been seen since before lockdown but returned last week. Reports also claimed that the Zdun family was originally from Tarnow, Poland, but has been living in Salisbury for around four years.

Amanda Barlow, a neighbor of the family, said that she heard “horrific child-like screaming”. “I heard it was a man who has killed his wife and another younger woman. A neighbor who lives across the road took the children into his house to look after them because they apparently saw what had happened. The other two children are much younger. It's all such a shock.”

According to other neighbors, the alleged attack happened inside the house, as one of Marcin's child said “daddy asked them to go into the bathroom”. While another neighbor said when she was interviewed by police there “seemed to be a suggestion” that the accused had split with his wife.

A third neighbor identified as Maher, who owns his own catering company, said: “There was some noise and I thought it was kids playing... but it got louder, dramatically louder. One of our neighbors was over the road with another guy and they pulled two kids out, which were the young daughters. I thought they were having a fight at first but someone shouted 'they've been stabbed, call the police' so I went out and my wife and I grabbed the two children to put them in our house and keep them safe. One of our neighbors came up the hill very out of breath and said 'we've caught him, just down the road'. He'd actually come out the front door while we were going in the back foot and went past us.”

Neighbor Gary Smith, a retired Army veteran, who rushed to help with towels, said, “In the lead, up to it I had seen the two little girls playing in the front garden but then a little later heard screams. I thought it was the girls again but they got louder and louder. I went round there and in the front garden, I could see a woman with her throat cut. It was horrible, I don't understand how someone could do that.

“I was in the services so I've seen my fair share, but I never saw anything like that. From what I could tell it was the mother that I saw. The other woman, I could only see her leg. I wouldn't like to say for sure but I think she had probably gone by this point. The mother was the last to go, she was kicking and screaming, she was screaming 'where’s my children?! Where’s my children?!' There was a few of us helping with towels.”

“For quite a while we thought the dad had gone back to Poland, we hadn't seen him since before lockdown, but then he came back last week. The girls were little darlings, they were lovely. The family was all nice to talk to, very friendly and always said hello. Not ones to have a full conversation, but polite,” the 67-year-old added.

Meanwhile, Wiltshire Police said that they have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of murder. The accused has been taken into custody at Melksham Police Station. “I would like to reiterate that we have made an arrest and there is no risk posed to the wider community. The local community is likely to see a significant police presence in this area for a number of days. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims.

“We would like to thank the local community in advance for their understanding and patience while we carry out our inquiries,” Detective Chief Inspector Darren Hannant, from Wiltshire Police, said.
