LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The new Netflix show ‘Fatal Seduction’ brings to light another story about extramarital affairs and its repercussions. Adapted from the Mexican series, ‘Dark Desire’, the show follows Nandi Mahlati (Kgomotso Christopher) as she heads for a weekend getaway with her friend Brenda. Nandi’s relationship with her husband Leonard (Thapelo Mokoena) is shaky after she sees a suspicious text from Leonard’s assistant that indicates an affair between the two.

On the weekend getaway, Brenda pushes Nandi to have an affair with a man they’ve just met as a way to get back at her husband. Nandi is hesitant but eventually gives in and ends up sleeping with Jacob, the man who Brenda and Nandi spotted earlier on the beach. But Brenda is murdered and Nandi’s life is turned upside down when she learns that the man she slept with is her student. But given her recent miscarriage and her suspicions about her husband and his assistant, Nandi decides to continue her affair with Jacob.

Can Nandi ever let go of Jacob?

Nandi and Leonard are not exactly on the best of terms in their marriage. She knows in her gut that Leonard is having an affair with his assistant, Ameera, and her recent miscarriage has broken her to the core. Leonard is sympathetic but Nandi believes that Leonard doesn’t love her anymore and she seeks companionship in the next man she meets. Jacob who was a mere fling on a vacation turns out to be Nandi’s student and despite all her best efforts, Nandi is unable to shake him off.

Nandi goes to Jacob with the prospect of ending everything but ends up sleeping with him. She feels guilty about it later and tells him that she wouldn’t like their affair to continue. Nandi goes back to work but is ambushed by Vuyo, a personal investigator, and Leonard’s brother about Brenda’s murder. She informs him that Jacob was with him on vacation and not with Brenda.

Is Jacob a prime suspect in Brenda’s murder?

The ongoing police investigation reveals that Brenda and Nandi met a man on their vacation. After retrieving two used condoms from the crime scene Brenda was cheating on Vuyo with a man she met on this vacation. When they narrow down the suspect to Jacob, Vuyo rushes to Nandi to confront him about Brenda’s adulterous affair.

However, Nandi tells Vuyo that it was she who slept with Jacob while Brenda wasn’t there. Vuyo is torn but realizes that the killer still might be out there. However, Jacob seems to be snooping around Nandi’s house, clicking photos towards the end of the episode.

‘Fatal Seduction’ is currently streaming on Netflix.
