Family strangles alcoholic man to death for repeatedly raping mother, sister and sister-in-law while drunk
Police have arrested an entire family in connection to the death of their 24-year-old man who allegedly raped his mother, sister, and sister-in-law several times while he was drunk, and was killed because of his problems with alcoholism.
The gruesome murder, which took place in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, came to light after the deceased's body was found in the Gopaldas hill area, near the capital city of Bhopal, on Tuesday, November 12, according to India Today.
Datia Sub Divisional Officer of Police, Geeta Bhardwaj, said a post mortem revealed that he had been strangled to death and on further investigation, the family emerged as the prime suspects in the case.
He revealed that the victim was an alcoholic who used to rape his mother, sister, and brother's wife after getting drunk and that the family confessed they killed him because they had gotten fed up with his behavior.
When questioned, his father reportedly told the police that on November 11, a day before he was killed, the 24-year-old had come home in a drunken state and tried to rape his younger brother's wife.
The father said this was not the first time he had tried to sexually assault a family member and that this time proved to be one time too many. He said he and his family members attacked his son to stop him, and that they then pinned him to the ground and choked him to death.
"He had done so several times in the past, so this time we killed him and dumped his body near the Gopaldas hill," the father confessed.
The police arrested the father, his wife, his younger son, and the younger son's wife in connection to the murder. All four made their first appearance in court this past Monday, November 18, and have been remanded into judicial custody.
