Mortgage debt is like a termite that slowly corrodes the foundation until one day the whole house comes crumbling down. Kelly Mayo has had to worry about it for the longest time but not anymore. Along with a lavish home, Kelly and her family also received the news that the mortgage balance had been paid in full using the donations that came their way.

'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' returned with a heartwarming episode that was all about providing the Mayo family with a space that they deserved for having cared, loved and been generous towards strangers for years. A rare tornado had hit Kansas city, which left her house with unrepairable damage. The basement would flood every time she would use the shower, and naturally, with time, there was a vast mold growth.

The family feared it would reach the kid's room, which may prove to be unhealthy for her and everyone else in the house.

The only solution? To build the house from the ground up. Which the design team did and how. They transformed the dilapidated property into a French country-style-4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom abode with a porch that is shaped in a way as though it were hugging the house. Kelly was elated after the big reveal and why not? She had done enough and more for people, it was finally time for her to cherish something of her own.

Apart from a fully-functional kitchen with a baking island (Kelly loves baking) and kid's playroom, the design team, comprising Carrie Locklyn, Breegan Jane, Darren Keefe also built the family an outdoor game table that can be used to play table tennis, chess, and tic-tac.

Meanwhile, fans are overwhelmed to learn of the news that the mortgage had been paid. "Not having a mortgage is one of the best and worry-freeing feelings in the world! #HGTVExtreme #OnHGTV #LiveTweetCrew," a fan shared, while host Jesse Tyler Fergusson wrote, "Being able to tell The Mayo Family that we were able to pay off their mortgage was incredibly powerful. We want to give these family homes they can live in forever! #HGTVEXTREME."

"That is what got me. The college scholarships were great but. No mortgage.....wow!!," another viewer expressed.
