Latest Dr Pimple Popper News & Spoilers
Beauty is pain, and who knows it better than Dr. Sandra Lee of ‘Dr. Pimple Popper’ fame. But as it turns out, it's also oddly satisfying to watch the ‘painful’ beautification process. Dr. Lee, one of America’s top dermatologists, as well as an Instagram and YouTube sensation, treats patients with unusual skin conditions and helps them lead a life free of embarrassment – one needle, pop, and scalpel at a time.
Usually, Dr. Lee meets her patients and comes up with a solution to help treat them. However, things have been a bit different since season 5, thanks to COVID-19. Dr. Lee is taking all possible precautions to protect her patients, staff and herself. In the previous season, Dr. Lee received videos from several patients talking about their condition, following which she either guided them over a video call on how to perform certain procedures on themselves, or referred them to their nearest medical expert. In some cases, she even met them in person and carried out their treatment.
In Season 6, 'Dr. Pimple Popper' will continue to keep all safety protocols in place including mask wearing and social distancing requirements. This season will see Dr. Lee tackling some of her most challenging cases yet. The trailer reveals a patient with a pus-filled growth on his nose that is so large he can't even breathe. It even attracts flies. Dr. Lee can be heard saying that it's “the biggest rhinophyma" that she has ever seen while pointing out leaking pus from the nose. We also get a sneak peek at the patient struggling to breathe during the surgery because of the enormous rhinophyma.
“I’ve been told that I look like a monster,” says another patient with neurofibromatosis (bumps) all over the body. Yet another patient, who suffers from boils, estimates that she has at least 500 covering her body.
The upcoming season will also see the return of one of Dr. Lee's former patients — Monica from season 5. Monica had previously sought treatment for a birthmark on her face, which she claimed kept her from landing her dream job. Monica is grateful for getting a second chance to get treated by Dr. Lee. "Today’s my second chance and you don’t always get a second chance. It’s just, I was upset that I didn’t have a whole lot done,” she says.
Each episode of Dr. Pimple Popper will not only feature gripping poppings and extractions, but also heartwarming and emotional backstories of patients as Dr. Lee explains various dermatological diagnoses. In the past, Dr. Lee has helped patients with extreme cases of cysts and lipomas. Dr. Lee will also be roping in some experts to help her treat more advanced and extreme conditions. So if you're curious to catch all the action, grab your tissues and get ready to be awed by the jaw-dropping transformations that await us on every episode of 'Dr. Pimple Popper'.
