Emmerdale stars Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden's friends had no idea they were attending the couple's wedding
Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden tied the knot on February 10 after being together for 11 years. The two met on the sets of iTV's hit soap, Emmerdale and share two sons.
When Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden's friends arrived at Ripley Castle in Yorkshire on February 10, they thought it was to celebrate the actress's 30th birthday. Instead, they found themselves as guests at Charley and Matthew's wedding.
The Emmerdale stars tied the knot in a secret, private ceremony that was attended by those closest to them.
Charley and Matthew met on the sets of ITV's soap Emmerdale in 2007 and have been dating since then. The couple shares two kids Buster and Bowie and has been engaged since 2010.
No one thought they'd get married but the couple's friends were in for a surprise and ended up playing an important role in their nuptials. Charley's on-screen dad, Jeff Hordley walked her down the aisle while castmates Roxy Shahidi, Zoe Henry, Charlotte Bellamy, Sammy Winward, Emma Atkins, Kate Oates and her sister Cassie doubled up as bridesmaids.
Matthew asked his "second dad" and castmate Chris Chittell to be one of the four groomsmen while his sons were pageboys, according to Daily Mail.
Charley looked beautiful in a Suzanne Neville semi-sheer lacy gown with an ivory skirt, while her groom went for a more casual outfit. Matthew, 37, wore a black shirt, velvet bow tie, and jeans. The outlet claimed that they exchanged handmade rings which they designed in India.
Charley told OK! Magazine that her son Buster was the reason they tied the knot after an eight-year-long engagement. She said Buster asked them about marriage and the couple decided to do it for their kids. She added that they are planning to have a new addition to their family of four so that their kids don't have a significant age gap between them.
Like many celebrity couples who have a private wedding ceremony, the vibe of the Charley and Matthew's nuptials was quite casual. Their wedding guests had to serve themselves from a buffet of Indian food, which included dishes like lamb ghost, chicken korma, black dhal, bhajis, samosas, poppadoms and pilaf rice. They were served popcorn and candy floss as dessert later.
The couple is expected to fly to Florida for a two-week honeymoon soon. However, their honeymoon sounds more like a family trip as they're taking their sons to Disney World in America.
