ABC's 'Emergence' season 1: Release date, plot, cast, trailer, and everything you need to know about the mystery drama
'Emergence' is an upcoming American mystery-themed thriller drama television series created by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas. Originally created for NBC after it had ordered a pilot, the show has now been picked by ABC Studios. The broadcast network has added it to its 2019-20 television schedule line-up.

The show will air on Tuesday nights, starting September 24, 2019.
Plot
A police chief discovers a young child named Piper near Long Island's Peconic Bay where a mysterious accident occurs and takes her in. Soon, she discovers that the girl has no memory of who she is. The mystery amplifies when the accident is further investigated and the past comes into the picture.
Cast
Allison Tolman
Tolman plays the role of Jo Evans, a newly divorced police chief and mother to teenage daughter Bree. The actress was earlier seen as police officer Molly Solverson in the first and second season of 'Fargo', which also got her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
Clancy Brown
Brown plays Ed, an ex-firefighter, Jo's father, and Bree's grandfather. The actor and voice actor is known for his role as the Kurgan in the fantasy film, 'Highlander'.
The other cast includes Alexa Skye Swinton (Piper); Donald Faison as Alex, Jo's ex-husband; Owain Yeoman as Benny; Robert Bailey Jr as Chris, a police officer; and Zabryna Guevara as Abby, Jo's best friend.

The show has been created and developed by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas. Fazekas is also the executive producer of the show along with Paul McGuigan, Robert Atwood and Tara Butters.
Trailer
The 2.31-minute trailer was released by ABC on May 14, 2019. The tagline of the show is "Beyond explanation…beyond understanding…lies the truth."
