ABC’s mystery-themed thriller drama is being critically lauded for its brilliant portrayal of fantasy, drama, action and the bizarre unexplained forces. While several shows in recent times have fallen short of factors that could keep our attention intact, ‘Emergence’ has offered us a plot that is intricate and enthralling. Until now, we have seen the police chief Jo (Allison Tolman) fighting against the rest of the world to solve the mysterious case of an estranged AI Piper (Alexa Swinton). However, we couldn’t overlook the irreparable damage her actions have caused.

Jo is well aware of what the ruthless tech billionaire Kindred is capable of. In the last episode, ‘Mile Marker 14’, Jo discovers that Kindred’s former business partner Alan is still alive and hiding at an undisclosed location. With his help, Jo gets Kindred arrested for wire fraud. But Jo’s action will be met with consequences that will cost her and her family a lot.

Ever since Kindred came to realize that Jo has been trying to frame him for creating AIs like Piper, he has gotten ridden of all pieces of evidence against him by means unimaginable. Highly driven my power and influence, Kindred couldn’t be stopped by the righteousness of his actions.

He hired a gunman to publicly kill April, who Benny was seeking help in cracking into Emily’s hard disk, which contained highly confidential information regarding Piper’s creation. Benny also faced the hit but managed to survive y sheer luck. Also, when Kindred was released following the first arrest that was staged by Jo, the founder of Augur Industries bought a firm that employed Alex (Jo’s husband) and had him laid off.

Now that Kindred is free and has even warned Jo that he would ensure the destruction of everybody that’s backing her up in her investigation, we are beginning to worry about Chris, who has been her the chief police’s loyal sick-kick from the start.

It would only make sense for Kindred to get rid of Chris, who has helped Jo a great deal with Piper’s case, tampering Jo’s further investigation. Also, Chris’ close association with Emily might have put him at high risk, owing to her hidden identity. Chris’ previous encounters with the Kindred’s representatives and Jo’s recent revelation to him about Piper is indicative of the threat that awaits him.

Episode 7 of ‘Emergence’ will air on ABC on November 19.
