Elderly brothers freeze to death meters from Kentucky home after truck breaks down in sub-zero temperatures

The bodies of 72-year-old Obie Fugate and 67-year-old Roy Fugate were found by a relative on Saturday after they died of exposure to extreme cold during the polar vortex
UPDATED FEB 5, 2019

Two elderly brothers from Northern Kentucky were reportedly found frozen to death after their truck broke down nearly half a mile from their home last week in frigid temperatures and their bodies were eventually found by a family member near their home.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office released a statement shortly after saying that the bodies of 72-year-old Obie Fugate and 67-year-old Roy Fugate were found Saturday after their vehicle broke down. Reports state that the family member had arrived at the siblings' property in the 4900 block of Garrison Creek Road in Petersburg to bring them some firewood and that is when he found the brothers' bodies near their home.
