Marvel Cinematic Universe introduces Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, as its latest superhero. Unlike traditional superpowers, Echo's strength lies in her adaptability.

Originally scheduled for a debut on Disney+ on November 29, 2023, 'Echo's premiere has been postponed to January 9, 2024, possibly influenced by the ongoing strikes involving WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

What is the plot of ‘Echo’?

Continuing directly after the events of Disney+'s ‘Hawkeye’, the new series ‘Echo’ focuses on Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), a deaf superhuman. Faced with a bounty placed on her by Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), the kingpin of crime in New York City, she decides to leave the city and return to her hometown in Oklahoma.

Marvel’s official synopsis reads, "Streaming exclusively on Disney, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."
