'DWTS' Season 30: Amanda Kloots tops scoreboard, fans claim it's 'not really fair'

Although she put up a beautiful performance that earned her high scores, fans believe Amanda Kloots has an advantage as a trained dancer

If one celebrity has already proved that they are a cut above the rest on Season 30 of 'Dancing With The Stars', it would have to be the co-host of 'The Talk' Amanda Kloots. The past year has not been easy for Kloots, who recently lost her husband, Nick Cordero, to COVID-19. However, Kloots has chosen to honor his memory through her performances and is truly putting her heart and soul into it.

Last week, Kloots danced the Tango to 'Dance Again' by Jennifer Lopez and Pit Bull, along with pro-dancer and Season 28 winner Alan Bersten. This week, she performed the Foxtrot to 'It Had to Be You' by Frank Sinatra. The song holds a very special place in her heart as Kloots explained why it was important to her.

Seeing that her late husband was a broadway star and Kloots herself used to perform, broadway is where they met and it marked the start of their love story. 'It Had to Be You' was not only one of the first numbers they performed to, but was also their wedding song and the memory of dancing to it with her husband on their wedding day will always be a special memory.

As with her previous performance, the judges were enamored. Len Goodman even described it as butter on a hot muffin, wishing that it would have been longer. While he did critique her leg kicks, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba all maintained that she should flaunt her long legs. However, despite the disagreement over her leg movements, the judges all scored her an impressive 8, putting her this week's total at 32. Combined with last week, she scored a grand total of 60, putting her at the top of the leaderboard with JoJo Siwa.

Although fans did enjoy her performance, there was an argument about her having been a professional dancer that came into play.  "I really like Amanda & am so sorry about her husband but wasn't she a rockette & professional Broadway dancer? Should she & JoJo be competing against other non-dancers? These ladies are so above all the others. Not really fair… #DWTS" tweeted a fan. "If yall r gonna complain about jojo having dance experience then yall better complain about amanda being a former rockette and broadway dancer too #DWTS" added another.

While it does seem like she has an unfair advantage, some fans didn't care and just enjoyed seeing her on stage. "Ok Amanda kloots is a frontrunner ( which she should be bc Broadway) but I'm rooting for her #DWTS" tweeted a fan. "Is it any surprise that a Broadway dancer did well with the Foxtrot? But, seriously, blown away by Amanda and Alan's dance, wow! #DWTS" admitted another.
