'Drive to Survive' Season 4: Haas slammed for picking Kevin Magnussen as Mazepin replacement

""I don't even know why I had high hopes about Haas promoting Fittipaldi. What a money biased choice over a talented young driver," a tweet read.

Breaking news came in the form of Kevin Magnussen making a comeback to Haas in Formula One the day 'Drive to Survive' Season 4 was released on Netflix. While one of the episodes focused on Haas and their journey with two young rookies in the F1 2021 season. Now, the Russian sponsor and his son Nikita Mazepin are no longer associated with Haas after the racing team fired them last week following their country's invasion of Ukraine.

The fans though weren't keen on Magnussen's signing and were thoroughly disappointed. "I don't even know why I had high hopes about Haas promoting Fittipaldi. What a money biased choice over a talented young driver, what's the purpose of having a Junior category if all midfield teams just picks old drivers/rich kids because you guys can't afford to build a F1 car," one of the fans lamented. "Leaving a potentially Le Mans winning car with Peugeot to come back to Haas in F1... I really can't understand the logic behind this," another wrote.

"It's so ridiculous. The team fired him in 2020 and now he comes back like nothing happened?! He's had more than six years of career to show for it, Piastri and Illott are young talents. It just shows how this motorsport category (F1) is more a Circus of lust than a sport," another fan complained. "yeah, lets give a guy who has achieved nothing in all his years in haas instead of a young promise that neeeds a chance either pietro or oscar are the better option instead of giving two guys, mag and hulk respectively, the chance that has been given their whole careers," another tweet read.

"take the L. they need someone with experience not two rookies. kevin is actually very fast and has shown his talent, getting a podium on his debut, and getting multiple best of the rest finishes for haas. pietro isnt really that good, he has the name and thats about it," one of the fans wrote in support of Magnussen.
