The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many people across the world inside their homes. Most of them are in quarantine with their families and spending quality time with them. However, it is not the case with everyone, especially with people who are single and live alone.

Dr Ruth has a piece of advice for them as they struggle to live alone 24/7 during the lockdown. The 91-year-old told Page Six: “Don’t lose hope, things will get better” — but she is also warning singles to be wary of online sex.

“Make sure you do something that is pleasurable and if you are alone, make sure that you decide when this is over you are going to find a partner,” she said while sending some hope and positivity to all the quarantined singles in the world.

The American-German media personality also warned the young generation against the use of online sites for video sex. “We don’t know yet all the technology. I would be very careful,” she said.

Dr Ruth instead suggested that single people should fulfil their “fantasy” privately without putting themselves online. However, she added that if they feel “sexual, by all means, bring yourself to sexual satisfaction."

The elderly Holocaust survivor has not only gave suggestions to single people, but she also advised couples, saying they must manage expectations. “Those people who have a partner are lucky because they have someone at home and if the relationship is good then this experience just makes it stronger. If the relationship is not so good then staying home together will not help. Don’t have expectations that we can’t fulfill,” she said, adding, “Make sure you keep a good attitude about life and sex.”

In her interview, Dr Ruth also applauded the NY Department of Health for releasing guidelines for safe-sex in the time of coronavirus. The memo issued by the department on Saturday, March 21, said, “You are your safest sex partner. Masturbation will not spread COVID-19, especially if you wash your hands (and any sex toys) with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after. The next safest partner is someone you live with. Having close contact– including sex — with a small circle of people helps prevent spreading COVID-19.”

The guidelines also caution against having sex with anyone outside the household and staying away from indulging in “group sex”. “Video dates, sexting or chat rooms may be options for you,” the agency added.

The television talk show lauded the department “for being so forthcoming and explicit that even I was surprised that they are talking not only about kissing but about some very explicit sexual provisions.”

“What really surprised me is they were talking about rimming … It shows us that things have progressed, that we are willing to speak about these things,” she added.

Meanwhile, in related news, Pornhub has opened up its massive porn library for free across the globe for the next 30 days. Earlier in March, the world’s biggest porn site has offered a free premium subscription to Italians for an entire month while they are cooped indoors amid the lockdown.
