When it comes to the couples on 'Married At First Sight', it is important to have faith in the experts on the show. After all, they are the ones behind the match-making process that can either end up in a fairytale romance or prove to be an absolute disaster.

While Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr Pepper Schwartz and Dr Viviana Coles have been staples on the expert panel, Season 15 aims to switch it up a bit, seeing that Dr Viviana Coles won't be a part of the season. Who is Dr Pia Holec?

As per her LinkedIn, Dr Pia Holec is a Psychotherapist at Resilience Psychological Services. Prior to this, she worked as a Psychotherapist
Gentle Healing and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at NeuroHealth Arlington Heights. She studied at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and wrote her dissertation on 'The Impact of Couple's Attachment Style on Sexual Satisfaction in Monogamous Relationships'. She also attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has a BS, Psychology. 



 

What led Dr Holec to her career?

As reported by The Things, Dr Holec participated in mental health awareness activities while in high school. This encouraged her to pursue a career in the same field.



 

What does she specialize in?

As per her profile on the Resilience website, Dr Holec "specializes in working with couples and with individuals around the topic of intimacy and is recognized for her work with sexual disorders."

She has worked with patients and couples dealing with "anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, PTSD, complex trauma, obsessive compulsive disorders and addictions."

She has also treated a wide range of medical issues such as "Female Hyposexual Arousal Disorder, Dyspareunia, Vaginismus, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Premature Ejaculation, Erectile Dysfunction, unconsummated marriages, gender dysphoria, and LGBTQ+ concerns."
