Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland is spending time with her daughter and Prince Harry as well as their son Archie as she lives with them in Tyler Perry's exclusive Beverly Hills $18million mansion. Meghan and Harry are currently living in Los Angeles with their one-year-old son as they stepped down from senior royal duties earlier this year.

“Doria Ragland continues to live with Meghan, Harry and Archie. This has been the most time she has spent with her grandson since he was born,” a source told Us Weekly. It has also been said that the 63-year-old is enjoying being a grandmother as she “gets up in the morning and reads to him (Archie)”. The Ohio native also helps her 38-year-old daughter in making the 14-month-old’s “all-organic” food.

This comes after a report in June claimed that Ragland has become an "official nanny" to her grandson. A source at the time said as reported by The Sun: “Doria has her own quarters and whilst a few of Harry’s chums have been ribbing him about living with his mother-in-law, he has a brilliant relationship with her.” While another source told Mail Online that the Duchess of Sussex sees her mother as "her rock". The source also added that Meghan “doesn't trust many people” outside the circle of her close friends and immediate family members.

The Sussexes welcomed baby Archie on May 6, 2019. The couple’s Instagram announcement read at the time: “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thanks members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

After the little one’s birth, a source told US Weekly that Ragland “has been a big help with the baby and the life adjustment.” The insider added that Harry was also a great support for Meghan while she transitioned from being a woman to a mother. “[He] has been amazing and is a real hands-on co-parent,” the source said.

Reports have also claimed that when Meghan and Harry decided to leave the royal palace to start a financially independent life, Ragland was a "silent but steely" influence. "Harry, in particular, turns to her for advice. She is like the Queen – she never complains and never explains. Meghan has always trusted her completely but she has become a rock to Harry. She isn't someone who seeks attention, and for Harry, her discretion and silence mean the world,” a former confidante said earlier.

Meanwhile, a former royal press secretary has said the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William that has gone sour since the Megxit announcement won’t be fixed until both of them are on the same side of the ocean. Dickie Arbiter said both the brothers need to be in the UK to mend the relationship.

“I hope they settle their rift because there shouldn’t be bad blood amongst brothers, particularly those two brothers who went through such trauma together [with the] death of their mother. They’ve been through a lot, and they’ve carried each other, and they’ve supported each other. And to have a rift is not healthy in any family. So I hope they are getting back together again,” Arbiter said.
