'Don't' Episode 1: Eating jalapenos and wasabi without water to not blinking, here are show's best moments
It's a gloomy time for all but never fear, that's what television is here for. Join in the fun and games of ABC's newest show 'Don't, produced by Ryan Reynolds and hosted by Adam Scott. In this show, a family of four has to undertake the strangest challenges for money. The successful missions earn money in the team's bank accounts while failed challenges force participants to undergo some absurd punishments.
In this episode of 'Don't', we got to meet the Riley family from Brooklyn — David, Lisa, Jaime and Giuseppe. They were given the most unusual challenges. While they were successful in some, they failed the others and had to take on some silly punishment. What made the show even more fun was Reynold's snarky voiceovers and one-liners. Here are some of the best moments from the show.
'Don't get tired'
Don't take the word 'tired' literally. In this segment, one member of the family had to stand in front of tyres while the rest have to answer questions. If they get it right, the tyres would roll down and avoid hitting the person in the face. If they don't, well, the tyre would knock the person down. David was the first casualty as his family members were asked about the closest American state to Africa. They got the answer wrong and David was knocked off his feet by a tyre. His wife Lisa was just as unlucky and got hit by a tyre too. Jaime didn't get hit, thankfully, as the family was asked about Barack Obama's presidency.
'Don't drink water'
This was almost painful to watch. Dave had to walk on a treadmill while Scott kept handing him chillies, including jalapenos and finally wasabi. Dave was not allowed to drink water till the challenge was completed. He managed to successfully complete the challenge with his family cheering him on, madly. It didn't help that Scott put a glass of ice-cold water right next to him, in order to make him more desperate. But Dave didn't cave in and won the challenge. Now that's a Herculean feat!
'Don't blink'
The family had a staring competition without blinking. Every time they blinked, a substantial amount of money would be deducted from $20,000. While Dave, Lisa and Giuseppe all blinked, Jaime continued staring without blinking, leaving Scott to crack a one-liner on whether she was still alive or not.
