Donald Trump slams Spike Lee for 'racist hit on your president' after director asks voters to be 'on the right side of history' in 2020
President Donald Trump on Monday accused Academy Award winner Spike Lee for launching a "racist hit on your president" after the 'BlacKkKlansman' director urged voters to be on the "right side of history" when voting during the 2020 presidential elections. Lee made the statement during his acceptance speech on Sunday night when he won for Best Adapted Screenplay for the movie.
The Republican also mocked Lee for reading from a yellow sheet of paper while giving his Oscar acceptance speech, and claimed in a tweet that he had done more for African Americans than "almost any other pres!"
"Be nice if Spike Lee could read his notes, or better yet not have to use notes at all, when doing his racist hit on your President, who has done more for African Americans (Criminal Justice Reform, Lowest Unemployment numbers in History, Tax Cuts,etc.) than almost any other Pres!," Trump tweeted on Monday morning.
