Donald Trump slams Jussie Smollett for 'racist and dangerous' lies, defends his 'tens of millions' of MAGA fans
Smollet had said that a couple of men wearing 'Make America Great Again' hats and ski masks had attacked him on a Chicago street, while shouting anti-gay and racist slurs
President Donald Trump slammed actor Jussie Smollett on Thursday shortly after Chicago police arrested him and charged him with filing a false police report. The disgraced 'Empire' actor had claimed last month that he suffered from a racist and homophobic attack.
Smollet had said that a couple of men wearing 'Make America Great Again' hats and ski masks had attacked him on a Chicago street, shouting anti-gay and racist slurs. According to the actor, the assailants shouted "This is MAGA country!" and put a noose around his neck as they beat him. His claim garnered him an outpouring sympathy from politicians, celebrities and public figures across the world.
