Trump slammed for saying listening to John Bolton would've led to 'World War V': 'What about WW3 and WW4?'

'John Bolton was a very stupid person and if I'd listened to him, we'd be in World War V right now,' Trump told Fox News host Mark Levin on Sunday, September 20, on the segment 'Life, Liberty & Levin'

In a recent interview with Fox News, President Donald Trump took a jab at former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who was let go from his administration last year, calling him a "very stupid person" and someone whose advice could bring about "World War V" apparently forgetting that the Third World War had still not taken place.

"John Bolton was a very stupid person and if I'd listened to him, we'd be in World War V right now," Trump told Fox News host Mark Levin on Sunday, September 20, on the segment 'Life, Liberty & Levin', alluding to the fact that Bolton is famously an advocate of the Iraq War and served as the Director of the Project for the New American Century which favored going to war with Iraq.

As soon as the particular portion of the interview was uploaded on Twitter by Vox journalist Aaron Rupar, it went viral, drawing hundreds of people to comment on the glaring absurdity of the president's statement. "WW5? Does he....does he think the numbers represent like intensity level like for a hurricane? 'WW1 was ok and WW2 was stronger than that, but if I listened to John Bolton, we'd have a WW5 that you wouldn't believe,'" one person commented, while another said, "'World War 5'? What happened to 3 and 4? Wth" A third wrote, "I am looking forward to his book 'World Wars 3 and 4: Or How I saved Civilization with the Wars That Never Were'"

And the reaction did not stop there. There was more mockery of the president's choice of words that followed. One wrote, "Woooow, we all skip thru the 3 & 4, and whatever in between..." while another said, "I really want him to explain what happened with WW3 and WW4. How did they start? Who won? I have so many questions." A third commented, "WW5 would be so bad, that 3 and 4 wouldn't even be an option" And a fourth wrote, "What happened to WW three and four. I must have been in a coma and missed them"

We previously reported that after the fallout between Bolton and Trump, the former did not miss any opportunity to attack his ex-boss. Back in June, in an interview with ABC News, Bolton claimed that the POTUS posed a "danger for the republic" and his re-election would leave the US in a greater peril from which it might never recover while promoting his book about his tenure in the Trump administration called 'The Room Where It Happened'.

He alleged that the mercurial president cared little about facts and his decisions are not dependent on "philosophy, grand strategy, or policy" but were only meant to serve his own political future. He hoped that Trump would end up as a single-term president and did not lead the US "irretrievably into a downward spiral we can't recall from". "We can get over one term. I have absolute confidence — even if it's not the miracle of a conservative Republican being elected in November. Two terms, I'm more troubled about," said Bolton, who had serious differences with Trump with his pro-war stances vis-a-vis countries like North Korea and Iran.
