In the wake of US Elections 2020, President Donald Trump got a pillar of support when the New York City Police Benevolent Association personally endorsed President Trump on Friday night. “I cannot remember when we’ve ever endorsed for the president of the United States until now — that’s how important this is,” Pat Lynch, the combative PBA president, said at an at Trump's Bedminster club. “We need your strong voice across the country.”

Stressing on his law-and-order message while speaking to City of New York Police Benevolent Association, the union representing around 24,000 rank-and-file officers, Trump said that “no one will be safe in Biden’s America.” He then added, “We have to bring law and order back to our cities, back to our country. This guy has been taking your dignity away and your respect. And I’m telling you on Nov. 3 you’re going to be getting it back.”

Thanking them for the endorsement, Trump shared a video and wrote in a tweet, "Today, it was my great honor to proudly accept the endorsement of the @NYCPBA! I have deeply and profoundly admired the brave men and women of the #NYPD for my entire life. New York’s Finest are truly the best of the best — I will NEVER let you down! #MAGA." In the one-minute clip, Pat also said, "I cannot remember when we've ever endorsed the office of president of the United States until now."

Sharing more pictures, he then tweeted: "We will bring safety to our cities. We will bring hope to our most distressed communities — and in everything we do, we will stand in solidarity with the men and women of LAW ENFORCEMENT! Thank you to the @NYCPBA for your endorsement. God Bless the #NYPD, and God Bless America!"

Soon, a string of reactions started floating on the Internet. "It’s a bad sign for Joe Biden when even the unions start endorsing President Trump!" one tweet read.

Another Trump supporter tweeted: "Great choice by the NYPD !!!!"

However, many felt it was wrong. "When the NYPD Union endorses President Trump, You know the Democrats have a problem," one tweet said.

"Unfortunately I think people are underestimating both how important and how dangerous the NYPD’s endorsement of Trump is," another tweet read.

Several others expressed their anger and soon #DefundThePolice started trending. "When the cop who murdered Eric Garner was finally fired 5 years later, this NYPD union head who just endorsed Donald Trump lost his mind & claimed the decision left the NYPD “rudderless.” He was furious that his troops couldn’t kill w/o accountability. This is who the NYPD is," one tweet read.

"Of course the NYPD union endorses Trump; they're racists wearing a uniform. #DefundThePolice," one tweet read.

Another tweet said, "NYPD endorses Trump. Then you wonder why people don’t trust these racists. They just said the quiet part out loud. #DefundThePolice #DefundNYPD."
