Trump supporters launch dating website only for 'straight' people
The website, which is simply called Trump.Dating, has been set up by Friends Worldwide, a company that specialises in connecting people with potential partners.
US President Donald Trump's supporters have opened a dating site where only straight people are allowed to sign up.
The website Trump.dating, which went live earlier this week, aims to "make dating great again" by "matching patriotic and political viewpoints."
It is supposedly owned by Friends Worldwide Inc., a company that specializes in connecting people with potential partners.
A statement on the website reads:
Find the America first partner of your dreams.
Dating in 2018 is more of a challenge than ever before, thanks in part to today's polarising political landscape.
While searching for a potential partner on other dating sites, it's not uncommon to see messages like No Trump supporters or Proud liberal.
We're wrecking the dating game and giving like-minded Americans a chance to meet without the awkwardness that comes with the first conversation about politics.
Wouldn't it be refreshing to already know that your date roots for the same team?
Having said that, the drop-down box which appears in the gender category titles "I am a" has only two options to choose from: "straight woman" or "straight man".
This was pointed out by NPR reporter Tim Mak who shared the information on Twitter.
Online editor for the Weekly Standard, Jim Swift, said in response that although the website does not allow homosexuals to sign up, it does allow people to choose their marital status.
They let you join if you are happily married, just like the man himself! pic.twitter.com/NlhYRCIBql— Jim Swift (@JSwiftTWS) February 17, 2018
Men and women are also given a provision to identify themselves as "happily married" or even "unhappily married" in the subsequent sign-up procedure.
Multiple users cracked that married people are able to join following the example of President Trump, who allegedly had affairs with pornstar Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal while still being married to Melania Trump.
The limited scope of answers sparked an intense backlash on social media against the website which is in no way related to Trump or his businesses.
Mak wrote on Twitter: "There is a website called trump.dating, and you have to be straight to use it", while Swift said: "They let you join if you are happily married, just like the man himself!"
Some users also suggested it could be satirical. Ashley Rae wrote: "The--I think--satirical Trump Dating site is only open to straight people."
Many joked further:

According to the website, their aim is to hook people up with like-minded pro-Trump individuals.
The dating site further reads:
When Political Foundation Is The Same, The Sky Is The Limit
We believe that by matching patriotic and political viewpoints as a base foundation of the relationship, it will allow one to focus on what really matters -- conversation, commonalities, and if all goes well, courting. Being with someone who shares the same core standards is absolutely essential if you're truly searching for a real, life-changing relationship and we have a feeling that if you're on this site, that's exactly what you're looking for. So, what are you waiting for?
Mak's post on twitter sparked a huge response from followers.

Moreover, users on social media who are seeking to join the network must set up a profile and provide their ethnicity among other usual options.
Funnily though, it also allows you to select "Eskimo" - a term for the indigenous people of Alaska, Canada, and Greenland, which is generally considered offensive and inaccurate.
Users are also supposed to provide basic information on their appearance, but also has options such as "tight and toned," "few extra pounds," "big and beautiful," and "big and handsome."
Once your profile is set up, you just have to send a "wink" and intimate persons of interest. The service is absolutely free.
Having said that, this is not the first time a dating site of this nature has come to the fore of social media attention.
A website called Trump Singles was said to have more than 24,000 members on board prior to Trump's presidential inauguration last year, Fox News reported in January 2017.
