Doctor treats his overdosing daughter instead of her friend who was in a worse state leading to his death
Dr. Jack Kerry presented evidence to an inquest into the death of 43-year-old Lucas Adam Pike who overdosed inside his Adelaide CBD clinic in March of 2016
An established doctor was faced with an extremely tough decision when he had to choose between treating his daughter and her friend who was in a much worse condition after the pair of them had overdosed on heroin. Dr. Jack Kerry presented evidence to an inquest into the death of 43-year-old Lucas Adam Pike who overdosed inside his Adelaide CBD clinic in March of 2016.
He told the coroner on February 14 that he found Pike, who was his patient, and his daughter, Athena Kyriacou, unconscious and instinctively rushed to her and began CPR. He said it was 'fatherly instinct' which prompted him to go to his daughter first.
